General Extra Magic Hours Information

Extra Magic Hours have officially been retired. In their place, Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Guests may participate in Early Theme Park Entry. More details can be found here

Extra Magic Hours are available to Walt Disney World onsite guests, as well as a few other select resorts. On select days, a Walt Disney World theme park will open one hour early or stay open up to two hours after regular park hours just for Disney onsite guests. This perk allows guests to enjoy the park with reduced crowds. Be sure to check Extra Magic Hours Information before you arrive and once onsite to ensure the schedule has not changed.

Eligible Resorts

Only guests staying at one of the Disney Resorts, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts, and Shades of Green, Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels, Four Seasons Resort Orlando, Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek and Waldorf Astoria Orlando are eligible for Extra Magic Hours. Disney Golden Oak Residents or Guests of Disney Golden Oak Residents are also eligible for Extra Magic Hours. Valid Theme Park admission and Walt Disney World Resort ID (or Golden Oak ID card) are required.

Extra, Extra Magic Hours

Once Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens, to give Guests more opportunities to experience the Walt Disney World attractions, the resort will introduce Extra, Extra Magic Hours.

Extra, Extra Magic Hours will be offered for three hours in the mornings at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. (And only at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The other two parks, the Magic Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be offering them only one extra hour, but these extra hours take place very early in the morning. )

The following will be the new schedule beginning August 29:

  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Offered daily from September 1 through November 2 from 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., including Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Toy Story Land and select other attractions. Important – Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and its experiences subject to capacity. Also, note that on August 29-31, Disney’s Hollywood Studios will open at 6:00 a.m. for all guests. The extra hours will not be offered on those days.
  • Magic Kingdom: Offered daily from August 29 through November 2, from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. and will feature favorite attractions in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland.
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Offered daily August 29 through November 2, from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m., featuring Pandora – The World of Avatar and other attractions throughout the park.
  • Epcot: Extra, Extra Magic Hours will not be available. Regular Extra Magic Hours will continue to be available on select days at Epcot.

Resort Guest Identification

Guests will be required to show their resort ID cards or MagicBands for admission to morning Extra Magic Hours and during evening Extra Magic Hours. This makes it essential to bring resort IDs or MagicBands for every member of your party to the park, even the kids.
