February 25-March 29, 2017
It’s the first week of March and the aroma of freshly popped popcorn and grilled hot dogs fill the air at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort which can only mean one thing – the start of Atlanta Braves Spring Training. Even if you’re not a Braves fan, there aren’t many better ways to spend an afternoon than catching a baseball game at Champion Stadium.
Each game has fun for the entire family including in-game entertainment, Disney character appearances and on-field fan experiences that only happen at Disney. In what has become a Disney tradition, kids will have the opportunity to run the bases after every game and there are multiple opportunities to catch your favorite players. The huge jumbo screen will enhance fan viewing. Of course, you can also count on some Disney magic to be sprinkled in to each Braves game.
Walt Disney World always puts its special touch on Spring Training for the Atlanta Braves, who have trained at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney since 1997. If you haven’t noticed, next time you’re at Disney for a Braves game or watching it on TV, look closely out at center field at Champion Stadium and see if you can spot the hidden Mickey.
