The Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend will kick-off on Thursday, November 2, 2017 with the opening of the Expo at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. This is a one stop for everything happening during race weekend. The Expo will host seminars on training, racing, and nutrition, featuring speakers and panelists from the world of running. While picking up your official race number and packet, check out the newest Official Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend Merchandise, as well as the latest in apparel and fitness equipment.

Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend transportation will depart from the Event Host Resorts to the Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex approximately every 30 minutes and will begin one half hour prior to opening, continuing until one half hour after closing.

runDisney’s Kid Races

Saturday, November 3, 2018
Location: New Balance Track & Field Complex

Kids Dashes – 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Diaper Dash – 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
One Mile Run – 1:00 p.m.

Children 13 and under are invited to participate in the runDisney Kids Races taking place at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Track & Field Complex. Each runner who participates will go home with their very own Finisher Medallion!

Disney’s Kids’ Races Age Groups:

  • 12 months and under – Diaper Dash for crawlers
  • 1 – 3 years old – 100m dash
  • 4 – 6 years old – 200m dash
  • 7 – 8 years old – 400m dash
  • 1 Mile Run – Open to all children 13 years old & under

Mickey’s Holiday 5K

Location: Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
This is a fun-filled 5K that the whole family can enjoy. There’s something for everyone at Mickey’s Holiday 5K, where adults, teens and tweens can be a part of this official Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend event. Disney entertainment takes place on-course. Experience a 5K course that winds through Disney’s Animal Kingdom with an unforgettable finish! Beginners, intermediates, and even experienced runners are all invited to join the fun.

How much fun can you pack into one day? Plenty when you set your course for the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon. Your day begins with an early morning 13.1 mile run through the beautiful Walt Disney World Resort. Begin at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and finish outside of Epcot on a 13.1 mile half marathon course, run with Disney Entertainment on-course! Your half marathon will take you through the Disney theme parks with Disney entertainment on hand to delight and entertain you on your run. In the evening, top your night off at an exclusive Post Race Party with your friends and family at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival for participants. There, you’ll enjoy entry to more the Global Marketplaces at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, access to favorite Epcot attractions, Character Meet & Greets, musical performances, entertainment, and a live DJ!

Disney Two Course Challenge

Saturday, November 3, 2018 – Sunday November 4, 2018
2 Races/2 Days/19.3 Miles/3 Medals
Start: Magic Kingdom Parking Lot
Finish: Epcot
If you think that a half marathon is just a cake walk, put your endurance to the test and compete in the Disney Two Course Challenge. A 19.3-mile adventure held over two days, participants will run the Disney Wine & Dine 10K on Saturday, followed by the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon on Sunday. If you finish both races within the pacing requirements, you will be awarded the Disney Two Course Challenge medal in addition to your Half Marathon and 10K finisher medals.

You must register for the Disney Two Course Challenge to receive the Disney Two Course Challenge medal upon completion of both races within the pacing requirements.

Post Race Party

Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 10:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. (Early entry begins at 8:00 p.m.)
After-hours Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
Location: Epcot
In addition to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival’s 30+ international marketplace kiosks along World Showcase, the after-hours Post Race Party will feature select attractions along World Showcase and inside Future World like Soarin and more.  Live entertainment, musical performances, a live DJ and character meet & greets will take place throughout the evening. Runners participating in the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon will receive entry into the Post Race Party with their registration. Tickets for friends and family can be purchased. Availability will be very limited.

Overall Half Marathon male (top 3), female (top 3) and wheelchair (top male and female) winners will receive their awards at the Awards Ceremony at 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2015.

Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon – participants must be 14 years of age or older.
Disney Wine & Dine 10K – participants must be 14 years of age or older.
Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K – all ages are welcome to compete. Each participant must be able to complete the 5K on their own.
Disney Kids Races – children 13 and under can participate in the 1-Mile Run and other race distances are determined by age group.

Cancellation & Deferrals Policy

Entry for Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend events are non-refundable.

Pacing Requirements

All athletes entering the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, Disney Wine & Dine 10K or Mickey’s Family Feast 5K must maintain a 16-minute per mile pace throughout the race. Anyone not able to maintain the respective paces may be picked up and transported to the finish. You may be picked up at any point along the course and transported for not maintaining pace. It is suggested that you train at a 15-minute per mile pace.

Proof of Time

Proof of time must be provided from a certified race reflecting results after November 1, 2015 and must be one of the below listed distances. Runners will be placed in the last corral if the appropriate race distance is not submitted for Proof of Time.

    • Half Marathon – 10K, 12K, 15K, 10 Mile, Half Marathon or Marathon

A valid proof of time provided at the time of registration must include the following:

    • Name of Race
    • Distance
    • City
    • State
    • Date
    • Finish time
    • Link to Results

For example, Walt Disney World Marathon, 26.2, Orlando, FL, 1/13/15, – 3:35

Keep in mind that If proof of time is not provided by August 1, 2017, or information is is incomplete or cannot be verified, you will be placed in the last start corral. Also keep in mind that no corral changes will be made after August 1, 2017.


For everyone’s safety, baby joggers, strollers, baby carriers, baby backpacks, inline skates, motorized scooters, bicycles, skateboards, canes, crutches, walkers, walking sticks and animals of any kind are prohibited from the course. Violators will be removed from the course and transported to the finish line area. Also, event operations will shut down when lightning is 10 miles out from the event areas and not resume until the lightning is 10 miles out moving away from the event areas.


New rules have been laid out for costumes on the race course. Guests may dress as their favorite character during the races, but must follow these guidelines:

  • Costumes must be family-friendly and may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or violent.
  • Guests who dress like characters may not pose for pictures or sign autographs for other Guests.
  • Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon.
  • Costumes may not contain sharp objects, pointed objects or materials that may accidentally strike another Guest.
  • For runDisney participants ages 13 and under:
    • Costumes and some masks may be worn, as long the mask does not cover the entire face and eyes are visible.
  • For runDisney participants ages 14 and older:
    • Layered costumes, that could conceal prohibited items, are not permitted (e.g. Jedi robes).
    • Costume props, including those that surround the entire body (e.g. Death Star, UP House) are not permitted.
    • Costumes may not reach or drag on the ground. (e.g. full-length Princess dresses)
    • Capes may be worn if the length does not go below the waist.
    • Themed T-shirts, blouses, sweatshirts, and hats are acceptable.
    • Acceptable accessories include: transparent wings, plastic light sabers, toy swords, and tutus. Headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face.
    • Guests may not wear masks of any kind.

Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused entry into, and/or removed from, a race or any race related event/activity unless his or her costume can be modified to meet the above standards.

Please note that while costumed attire may be worn during runDisney events, Guests 14 and older are not permitted to wear costumed attire in the theme parks. As a result, Guests may need to change their attire prior to visiting the parks after participating in a runDisney race.

Runner Tracking

Family and friends will be able to track participants with live online runner tracking for the 10K and half marathon. Participants will have the opportunity to send split times via email and text messaging by registering for this service on the event website. You can also sign up for runner tracking at the Expo.

For those staying at Disney resorts, most will have a quick service dining location open with special modified hours, as well as special marathon dining offerings, including Pasta Specials and Runner’s Breakfast Boxes.

Directions and Traffic Updates

Directions to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (Expo, 5K and Kids’ Races)

Major roads, including Osceola Parkway, Victory Way, World Drive and Buena Vista Drive will be closed or operating under traffic restrictions. Drivers should closely follow roadway signs and allow for extra travel time.

Directions: Take 1-4 to exit 65 (Osceola Parkway West). Take a left onto Victory Way and park in the main lot. Proceed on foot to the main entrance.

Guests should expect increased traffic and delays on Walt Disney World’s roadways during Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend.
