Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival

March 5 - May 18, 2014
Epcot's Future World and World Showcase will bloom with more than 30 million colorful blossoms, interactive garden activities for kids and workshops with national gardening experts from both HGTV and the DIY Network during this annual spring festival. Also during the festival are Marketplace Food Kiosks, topiaries that fill the park, and the Flower Power Concert Series.

"it’s a small world" 50th Anniversary - April 10, 2014 - To commemorate the event Disney will be celebrating a global sing along at its U.S. and theme parks abroad. At the Walt Disney World Resort, hundreds of Magic Kingdom Park guests are joining in the song during a special "pre-parade" before the “Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade.” Plus, throughout the day, in-park performers – the Dapper Dans, Coke Corner Pianist, Notorious Banjo Brothers, Royal Majesty Maker Musicians and Main Street Philharmonic – are scheduled to include “it’s a small world” in their appearances. If you can't be at a Disney theme park on Thursday April 10th, visit SmallWorld50.com where you can join the sing along virtually by either recording a version of the song and posting it, or creating your own unique doll to add to the mix.

Disney Trading Night - April 22, 2014 - Calling all pin traders! Disney Trading Night will take place from 6 - 9 p.m at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in the Sports Grill Restaurant area, adjacent to the lobby. Guest can trade pins, share stories and make friends at this family-friendly event. Plus, Disney artists Thomas Scott, Maria Clapsis, Alex Maher, and Derek Lesinski will be on hand to sign pins and vinylmation from 6 – 8p.m. Space is extremely limited, so please limit the number of items that you choose to bring.

"Maleficent" Sneak Peek - April 18, 2014 - An extended preview of the movie "Maleficent" will be shown daily at the ABC Sound Studio,in Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park beginning on April 18 through mid June 2014. The movie starring Angelina Jolie opens in theaters on May 30 2014.

Animal Kingdom's Birthday - April 22, 2014 - Opening April 22, 1998, the park turns 16 this birthday. No special festivities are scheduled.

Earth Day - April 22, 2014 - Animal Kingdom celebrates Earth Day with "Party for the Planet" events held throughout the park and inside Conservation Station at Rafiki's Planet Watch, while 'The Seas with Nemo & Friends' pavilion at Epcot celebrates marine animals.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Media Event - April 30 - Park hours at the Magic Kingdom or sections of the park may be impacted.

 

May Events

Expedition Everest Challenge 5K

Star Wars Weekends

Each summer Disney's Hollywood Studios turns into a giant Star Wars fan-fest on the weekends. There are up-close meet-and-greets for Walt Disney World guests with your favorite Star Wars characters and actors from the film series as well as interactive games, parades, presentations, music and fun for the whole family.

Disney's Hollywood Studio's Birthday - May 1, 2014 - Opening May 1, 1989, the park turns 25 this birthday. Disney's Hollywood Studios will celebrate with special anniversary merchandise on sale while supplies last beginning May 1 at a temporary shop located in Soundstage 1 between Studio Backlot Tour and Toy Story Midway Mania.

Cinco de Mayo - May 5, 2014 - Annual special family/kids activities at Mexico Pavilion at Epcot.

International Migratory Bird Day - May 8, 2014 - Part of Disney's year-long series of events that encourage families to connect with nature. Special activities and learning opportunities will be available to families and kids at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Mother's Day - May 11, 2014 - Special meals and deals are offered throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

Norway's Constitution Day - May 17, 2014 - Annual special family/kids activities at Epcot's Norway pavilion.

World Turtle Day - May 20, 2014 - Part of Disney's year-long series of events that encourage families to connect with nature. Special activities and learning opportunities will be available to families and kids at Epcot's The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion and at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

All-Night "Rock Your Disney Side Party" - May 23, 2014 - This 24-hour, fun-filled event takes place at both Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California and everyone is being invited to show their “Disney Side” by dressing as a favorite Disney hero or villain. The Magic Kingdom Park in Florida will be filled with Disney heroes and villains from 6 a.m., May 23 to 6 a.m., May 24, 2014, ET. A cavalcade of events will be featured showcasing the good-vs.-evil of classic Disney stories including character meet-and-greets throughout the parks, special entertainment, event merchandise and special food and beverage offerings.

Car Masters Weekend

June 14-15, 2014
Attention all "Cars" fans! The gang from Radiator Springs will head to Downtown Disney West Side for a fun, family-friendly event that celebrates everything about the motor vehicle. There will be meet and greets with Lightning McQueen, Mater and Finn McMissile, car shows, automotive world celebrities, and so much more.

Impact: Minimal except in the area of the event.

Gay Days - First Week of June - June 3 - 9, 2014. - Non-Disney sponsored event occurring yearly the anytime from the last few days of May through the first week of June. Actual dates vary yearly. Unofficial public and private events take place at Disney & other Orlando locations. Scheduled events in specific Walt Disney World parks on specific days. World Oceans Day - June 5, 2014 - Part of Disney's year-long series of events that encourage families to connect with nature. Special activities and learning opportunities will be available to families and kids at Epcot's The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion. Join Nemo, Dory, Crush and the rest of the gang in celebrating the wonders of the oceans.

Pollinator Day - June 10, 2014 - Part of Disney's year-long series of events that encourage families to connect with nature. Special activities and learning opportunities will be available to families and kids at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Fittipaldi Cup at Walt Disney World Speedway - June 13, 2014 - Winner of the 2014 Rolex 24 and the Exotic Driving Experience will host this half-day racing event at the Walt Disney World Speedway. The event will cost $999 per person and participants will drive supercars (Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Audis and Nissans in 2 six-lap experiences), street cars and karts in several different timed and scored events. Father's Day - June 15, 2014 - Select Downtown Disney restaurants offer special meals for dad!

An annual celebration, thisevent will be held in the Magic Kingdom and features top contemporary Christian music performers. The long-running series has played to a combined audience in excess of 650,000. 2014 Tickets on sale now!

Location: Magic Kingdom; 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Impact: Possible early closings at Magic Kingdom on Friday and Saturday. Increased crowds in the Magic Kingdom beginning 4 p.m. The Ticket and Transportation Center monorail and ferry boat heading into the Magic Kingdom will also be very busy after 4 p.m. due to the arrival participants.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Select Nights Mid September - Early November, 2014
Adults and children can trick or treat their way through the Magic Kingdom while experiencing Halloween magic throughout the park with Disney characters, special parades and fireworks and more. Guests of all ages are encouraged to dress up in their favorite Halloween costumes. This is a special hard-ticket event occurring on select nights.

The Imagination Gala: A Magic Carpet Event - September 5-7, 2014 - This annual pin trading event takes place at World ShowPlace in Epcot and includes both free and hard ticket events. For 2014, the event will celebrate the "bests" of Disney films and attractions - the characters we "love to hate" alongside the ones who make us laugh. The "bests" will be honored with an "Imagination Award," represented by a Golden Figment. At the ceremony, nominees will arrive in the grandest of styles: by way of a Magic Carpet instead of a Red Carpet. More details on this event are available on Disney's web site.

Patriot's Day - September 11, 2014 - The Magic Kingdom will have a special flag retreat in Town Square in honor of Patriot's Day.

Elephant and Rhino Day - September 23, 2014 - Part of Disney's year-long series of events that encourage families to connect with nature. Special activities and learning opportunities will be available to families and kids at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Disney Fit Challenge - September 26 - 28, 2014 - Check out the inaugural Disney Fit Challenge, a 3-day competitive fitness event in September where competitors will test the limits of their power, speed, balance, strength and endurance in a series of fitness maneuvers. If you would like to sign up to be a part of the event at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, registration opens March 18. One of the unique aspects of Disney Fit Challenge is that it’s designed so that competitors only compete against other fitness buffs of similar age and skill level spanning several divisions, including elite, intermediate and recreational. Competitors amass points based on their performance in each fitness exercise with the top point leaders from the first two days advancing to the final day of competition. There's just so much to do at Walt Disney World during the Halloween season. In addition to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, special parades, decorations and fireworks in the parks, there's lots to do on Halloween day at the Disney resorts too. And, at Downtown Disney the Halloween/Fall season is celebrated the entire month of October with special photo spots, pumpkin patches, an Oktoberfest band and more.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend

October 3 - 5, 2014
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror 10-Miler Weekend, takes place at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park during the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. Brave dark and ghostly streets haunted by Disney villains. Your commemorative medal announces your towering triumph as you ride thrilling Disney's Hollywood Studios attractions till 3:00 a.m.! Also taking place this weekend are the "Happy Haunted 5k Trail Run," the "Disney Villains Hollywood Bash," and the Health and Fitness Expo. Congratulations to Garrett Drogosch, Florida winner of 2013 race. 2014 race registration is now open.

Orlando International Dragon Boat Festival - Select Weekend in October, 2014 - a 2,500-year-old Chinese boat racing sport that takes place on Village Lake at Downtown Disney West Side, usually on a Saturday.

Bat Day - October 31, 2014 - Part of Disney's year-long series of events that encourage families to connect with nature. Special activities and learning opportunities will be available to families and kids at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

 

November Events

Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon

November 7 - 8, 2014
One of the really unique features of this race is that it is run at night. In fact, this race will quite possibly be the only half-marathon run under the stars. The weekend will also include a two-day expo, "Mickey's Jingle Jungle 5k," kids races and a lot of special Disney touches. The half-marathon will start at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and finish inside Epcot with an exclusive post-race party at the annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. Congratulations to Justin Scheid and Kristen Tenaglia, winners in the 2013 men's and 2013 women's divisions. Registration for 2014 race opens March 4, 2014.

Festival of the Masters

Select Weekend November 2014
Nearly 150 award-winning artists from across the country showcase their wares throughout Downtown Disney, including painters, photographers, sculptors and jewelry designers and more. The three-day festival features chalk art, live music, specialty foods and family-friendly activities.

Location: Downtown Disney

Old Spice Classic

November 27, 28 and 30, 2014
This Division/Men's Holiday Tournament will feature eight college basketball teams and 12 exhilarating games played over Thanksgiving weekend at the HP Field House at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through a bracket-tournament format. Old Spice Classic bragging rights for 2013 go to the University of Memphis!

Walt Disney World Resort is all aglitter during the holiday season with dazzling lights, spirited song and even snow flurries. Throughout the Walt Disney World there is caroling, enhanced parades, tree lighting ceremonies, visits by Santa, amazing decorations, special dining and ticketed events.

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights

Early November, 2014 - Early January, 2015
This holiday light display on the Disney's Hollywood Studios Streets of America, features millions of sparkling holiday bulbs designed by Arkansas businessman and philanthropist Jennings Osborne as a gift to his daughter and the guests of Walt Disney World Resort.

Candlelight Processional

Late November - Late December, 2014
A breathtaking retelling of the Christmas story in words and music complete with a 50 piece orchestra, choir and celebrity guest narrator. Tickets for the Candlelight Processional Dining Packages will go on sale late summer 2014.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Select Nights Early November - Late December, 2014
The Magic Kingdom will be transformed into a winter wonderland for this holiday fete. Snow will descend on Main Street, Mickey and friends will be garbed in seasonal apparel, and Cinderella Castle will once again shimmer in ice as special holiday fireworks, parades and shows await. This is a special ticket event occurring on select nights.

Additional Events During November

Jersey Week - First or Second Week in November. New Jersey Teachers Convention is held during this time, and schools in the state are out of session. Many Jersey families choose to vacation at Walt Disney World during this time resulting in decreased availability at resorts. Possible extra crowds at all parks.

Destination D: Attraction Rewind - November 22-23, 2014 - D23, the official Disney fan club, will hold this years annual event at Walt Disney World. The D23 member event will feature popular Disney Legends Marty Sklar and Bob Gurr, among others who worked on Disney's New York World's Fair shows. Attractions celebrated with rarely seen concept art, photos, video clips and personal stories from Disney archivists, Imagineers and legends will include Adventure Thru Inner Space, If You Had Wings, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, it’s a small world and Carousel of Progress. Tickets go on sale April 16, 2014 for $190 each exclusively for D23 Gold and Silver members. D23 Free members can purchase any remaining tickets beginning May 28 for $250 each. ABC Filming of Magic Kingdom Christmas Parade

First Weekend in December, 2014

Participation: Public (theme park admission required). Registration for spectators is necessary.
Location: Magic Kingdom
Impact: Extreme crowds in the Magic Kingdom, especially around Main Street; some shows and parades may be canceled. Main Street will be closed off during one of the taping days from parking opening through about 5 p.m. and other sections of the Magic Kingdom will also be roped off, causing delays through the afternoon. Pop Warner Sports Tournaments

December 6 - 13, 2014
Each December, Pop Warner championship tournaments are held at ESPN's Wide World of Sports for football in the Pop Warner Super Bowl and in Cheer & Dance National Championships. Some public exhibitions may be scheduled and guests can expect heavy bookings by youth groups at some resorts, especially All-Stars.

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights

Early November 2014 - Early January, 2015
This holiday light display on the Disney's Hollywood Studios Streets of America, features millions of sparkling holiday bulbs designed by Arkansas businessman and philanthropist Jennings Osborne as a gift to his daughter and the guests of Walt Disney World Resort.

Candlelight Processional

Late November - Late December 30, 2014
A breathtaking retelling of the Christmas story in words and music complete with a 50 piece orchestra, choir and celebrity guest narrator. Tickets for the Candlelight Processional Dining Packages will go on sale sometime summer 2014.

It was brought to Walt Disney World in 1994, when the display got a little too big for his neighborhood. Now, the guests of Disney's Hollywood Studios benefit from this incredible display of dancing lights.

Walt Disney World Marathon

January 7-11, 2015
The Walt Disney World Marathon is an annual 26.2-mile adventure that winds through all four Disney theme parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. The weekend also features a half marathon, a 10k, a 5K, kids races, special multi-day challenge races, a five-day health expo, and more. Congratulations to Fredison Costa and Angela Brito, winners in the 2014 men's and 2014 women's divisions. Registration for 2015 race opens April 22, 2014.

Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend

Select Weekend February, 2015
Join your fellow princesses in a royal quest that will take you through 13.1 miles of the Walt Disney World Resort. Also taking place this weekend are the "Disney Enchanted 10k," "Glass Slipper Challenge," "Cinderella Royal Family 5K," "runDisney Kids Races" and "Fit for a Princess Expo". Congratulations to Olympian Kim Smith, winner of the 2014 race. Registration for 2015 race opens July 15, 2014.

Atlanta Braves Spring Training

Late February - Late March, 2015
The Braves will return to Champion Stadium at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex in 2014 for their 17th season of spring training featuring some of the best teams in baseball. Watch as the Braves play teams like the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, and more. Tickets for games are now on sale.

Additional Events During February

48th Annual Super Bowl - February 1, 2015 - Special Big Game parties or menus will be offered at select locations. Walt Disney World guests will be able to watch the Super Bowl from the comfort of their in-room TVs or will be able to visit a variety of locations across Walt Disney World property, including many bars and lounges. Or schedule VIP Viewing at the ESPN Club. Following the big game, look for the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XLVIII to appear in a celebratory parade through the Magic Kingdom on Monday afternoon, February 3rd.

Valentine's Day - February 14, 2015 - Walt Disney World resort may offer special meals to celebrate the occasion.

Mardi Gras - Feb 17, 2014 - Annual mini-float parade (themed golf carts decorated by resort cast members) at Disney's Port Orleans Resort (both French Quarter and Riverside) on Fat Tuesday. Epcot's Future World and World Showcase will bloom with more than 30 million colorful blossoms, interactive garden activities for kids and workshops with national gardening experts from both HGTV and the DIY Network during this annual spring festival. Also during the festival are Marketplace Food Kiosks, topiaries that fill the park, and the Flower Power Concert Series.
