Monthly Averages and Weather Tips

January    February    March    April    May    June    July    August    September    October    November    December

January

Average High – 71ºF
Average Low – 52ºF
Average Daily Temperature – 60ºF
Average Precipitation – 2.3 in.

January is the coldest month of the year in Florida. Yes, it does get chilly in Florida! While the average highs and lows do not sound very cold, there are times when it is quite nippy. During this time of year, a jacket or hoodie is often necessary, especially in the early morning or late evening. Gusty winter wind can be quite cold. The winter months are low in precipitation typically.

The chilly weather may mean you need a jacket, but you should not be sweating while wandering the parks. The cooler temperatures make it easier to stay in the parks longer, as they are less draining than intense heat. Many water attractions, like Kali River Rapids, may be closed for refurbishments during this time of year due to the cooler temperatures. Typically, only one of the water parks will be open through the winter months. It is occasionally possible to swim despite the cool weather because all of Disney’s pools are heated.

February

Average High – 73ºF
Average Low – 54ºF
Average Daily Temperature – 63ºF
Average Precipitation – 2.4 in.

February is another cool weather month. Winter is typically the dry season in Florida, so there is less chance that it will rain. The weather can be quite cold in February, even though it is Florida. Be sure to pack socks, pants, and jackets, and even a scarf or gloves and a hat. Cold weather gear is especially necessary for the early morning or late evening hours. Gusty winds can be quite cold.

Park touring can be easier in cooler temperatures, as they are less draining than intense heat. Some water attractions, like Kali River Rapids, may be under refurbishment during winter months. Typically only one of the two water parks is open during the cooler season. It is still possible to swim if you want to, as all of Disney’s pools are heated.

March

Average High – 77ºF
Average Low – 59ºF
Average Daily Temperature – 67ºF
Average Precipitation – 2.9 in.

In March, temperatures begin to fluctuate and may be extremely warm or quite cool. Springtime has arrived! Be prepared with a jacket in case of cooler temperatures, but it is also common to have really warm days in March as well. March is still in the dry season for Florida, so it is not likely that it will rain all day.

Temperatures begin to rise in March, but it can still be cool in the mornings and evenings. Water parks resume full operation in March, although they may close for the day if the weather is cold. The most important thing to note about March weather is that it can vary greatly. One week it may be very warm, and the next, quite cool. Despite fluctuating temperatures, you should be able to swim since all of Disney’s pools are heated.

Average Daily Temperature – 72ºF
Average Precipitation – 2.4 in.

Temperatures begin to be more consistently warm during April, and by the end of the month, it may be hot. The rainy season has not struck yet, so it is unlikely that it will rain all day long. However, it is springtime, and this can fluctuate. It is not out of the question to have a chilly day, so it is still probably a good idea to have a light jacket.

By April, both water parks are in full operation. It should be beautiful weather for swimming, especially since Disney pools are heated. Typically it is not necessary to prepare for extremely hot or cold temperatures in April. This is beneficial for park touring. Comfortable weather is very nice for spending the day outside.
