Armed Forces Salute Ticket Travel Dates: January 4 - December 23, 2009 Walt Disney World has introduced a new Armed Forces Salute Ticket for 2009. Qualifying Military Service members* will be able to obtain a free 5-Day “Disney’s Armed Forces Salute Ticket” with Park Hopper and Water Park Fun & More Options included. Tickets may be obtained at theme park Guest Relations windows with proper ID. In addition, companion tickets can be purchased for up to 5 guests of Military personnel for only $99 each plus tax. The companion ticket will be a base Magic Your Way ticket with the option of adding Park Hopper or Water Park Fun & More options for just $25 per ticket. AAA and CAA members can save on Walt Disney World room reservations through 2010. The AAA or CAA card is required at time of booking and when arriving at the resort. AAA and CAA discounts are usually not available during the Holiday season, and run 10 - 20 percent off the rest of the year. New rates for the following year are released about mid summer. While AAA room discounts are available by booking directly through Disney or with any travel agency, AAA packages must be booked through AAA. It has been reported that some AAA offices are now charging a fee to apply discount codes to packages. Disney often releases specials throughout the year that are better than AAA packages. Unlike some Disney specialized agencies, AAA does not monitor or automatically change packages to get you the best deal after booking. While initial package deals may look appealing, do be aware that you may not always have the best deal available by the time you travel. These offers are randomly available at certain times of the year and at certain resorts. Guests may receive a flyer in their room or see an offer on their resort TV and reservations must be made before guests check out of the resort. These offers can save you 20%, 30%, and even 40% off of rack rates. At the time the reservation is made, the guests can indicate that they would like their choice of travel agency noted on the reservation or when the guests returns home, they can be transfer their reservation to a travel agency to take advantage of any specials or promotions that may be offer. Pin Codes sent directly from Disney in the form of post cards and emails are another way to get good discounts. No one is sure how one gets one of these, but if you should get one, they can also be booked directly through a travel agent to take advantage of any specials or promotions that may be offered as well. 2011 Cruise Line Itineraries with Onboard Credit Offers It’s a Disney Cruise Line first! The Disney Wonder Cruise Ship is sailing to Alaska for a four-month season of 7-night cruises in 2011. Departing out of Vancouver, B.C., the ship will call on popular ports such as Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway. Military Room Discounts Disneyland Resort hotels are offering special room rates for active or retired military personnel. For example, at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, active or retired members of the military and their families may find hotel rooms starting at $119 per night during value season.
