The Wine and Dine half marathon weekend will kick-off on Friday, November 6, 2015 with the opening of the Expo at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. This is a one stop for everything happening during race weekend. The Expo will host seminars on training, racing, and nutrition, featuring speakers and panelists from the world of running. While picking up your official race number and packet, check out the newest Official Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Merchandise, as well as the latest in apparel and fitness equipment.
Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend Transportation will depart from the Event Host Resorts to the Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex approximately every 30 minutes and will begin one half hour prior to opening, continuing until one half hour after closing.
Wine and Dine Welcome Reception

New for 2015 is the Disney Wine & Dine Welcome Reception. This Disney premium event is an amazing evening of fabulous food and wine, private shopping, hassle-free packet pickup and more. Guests will be able to sample four delicious wine and food pairings with American Olympian and runner Jeff Galloway, as well as being able to pose for pictures with your favorite Disney characters. You’ll also get an hour of pre-opening shopping at the runDisney Official Merchandise Store, as well as being able to pick up your runner’s packet early without the hassle. You’ll also receive special merchandise – a Wine and Dine Half Marathon luggage tag and a Wine and Dine Half Marathon duffel bag.

Cost: $79 (ages 3 and up); Children under 3 do not need a ticket
Start off your 2015 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend with the Pre-Race Taste at the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show. This event is a great way to relax and be entertained before your big race. Guest may enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios at 6:00 p.m. with their ticket, which includes entrance to the private party, four tastes from the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, and one “signature sip” drink coupon. There will be a cash bar and Disney character meet & greets at the party! Space is limited, so make sure you purchase your tickets early.

This is a fun-filled 5K that the whole family can enjoy. There’s something for everyone at the Family Fun 5K, where adults, teens and tweens can be a part of this official Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend event. Disney entertainment takes place on-course. Experience a 5K course that winds through Disney’s Animal Kingdom with an unforgettable finish! Beginners, intermediates, and even experienced runners are all invited to join the fun.

Begin at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and finish inside the Epcot World Showcase on a 13.1 mile half marathon course, run at night with Disney Entertainment on-course! Then top your evening run off at an exclusive Finish Line Party at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival for participants. In addition to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival’s 30+ international marketplace kiosks along World Showcase, the after-hours Finish Line Party will feature select attractions along World Showcase and inside Future World like Soarin and more. Early entry into Epcot begins at 7:00 p.m.. Live entertainment, musical performances, a live DJ and character meet & greets will take place throughout the evening. Runners participating in the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon will receive entry into the Finish Line Party with their registration. Tickets for friends and family can be purchased. Availability will be very limited.

There is limited spectator viewing of the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon. The best location to view your runner is at the Finish Line Party, where the race will be broadcast at Epcot.
Overall Half Marathon male (top 3), female (top 3) and wheelchair (top male and female) winners will receive their awards at the Awards Ceremony at 12:45 a.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2015.

Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon – participants must be 14 years of age or older.
Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K – all ages are welcome to compete. Each participant must be able to complete the 5K on their own.
Disney Kids Races – children 13 and under can participate in the 1-Mile Run and other race distances are determined by age group.
Cancellation & Deferrals Policy
Entry for Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend events are non-refundable. If you register for the 2015 Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend you may defer your registration to the 2016 Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend subject to availability, on or before November 3, 2015. Deferrals are not allowed for Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K or runDisney Kids Races.
All athletes entering the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon or Mickey’s Jingle Jungle 5K must maintain a 16-minute per mile pace throughout the race. Anyone not able to maintain the respective paces may be picked up and transported to the finish. You may be picked up at any point along the course and transported for not maintaining pace. It is suggested that you train at a 15-minute per mile pace.
Proof of Time
Proof of time must be provided from a certified race reflecting results after November 1, 2013 and must be one of the below listed distances. Runners will be placed in the last corral if the appropriate race distance is not submitted for Proof of Time.
- Half Marathon – 10K, 12K, 15K, 10 Mile, Half Marathon or Marathon
A valid proof of time provided at the time of registration must include the following:
- Name of Race
- Finish time
- Link to Results
For example, Walt Disney World Marathon, 26.2, Orlando, FL, 1/13/15, – 3:35
Keep in mind that If proof of time is not provided by August 4, 2015, or information is is incomplete or cannot be verified, you will be placed in the last start corral. Also keep in mind that no corral changes will be made after August 4, 2015.
For everyone’s safety, baby joggers, strollers, baby carriers, baby backpacks, inline skates, motorized scooters, bicycles, skateboards, canes, crutches, walkers, walking sticks and animals of any kind are prohibited from the course. Violators will be removed from the course and transported to the finish line area. Also, event operations will shut down when lightning is 10 miles out from the event areas and not resume until the lightning is 10 miles out moving away from the event areas.
While wearing a costume is optional, amazing costumes are part of the event and are encouraged. There are just a few simple rules. Face masks are NOT allowed for security and safety reasons and questionable or offensive costumes are prohibited. Violators will be asked to change or be removed from the event. Family and friends will be able to track participants with live online runner tracking for the half marathon. Participants will have the opportunity to send split times via email and text messaging by registering for this service on the event website approximately one week before the event. You can also sign up for runner tracking at the Expo.
Directions and Traffic Updates
Directions to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (Expo, 5K and Kids’ Races)
Major roads, including Osceola Parkway, Victory Way, World Drive and Buena Vista Drive will be closed or operating under traffic restrictions starting at 8:00 p.m. on November 7. Traffic will be back to normal by 2:30 a.m. Drivers should closely follow roadway signs and allow for extra travel time.
Directions: Take 1-4 to exit 65 (Osceola Parkway West). Take a left onto Victory Way and park in the main lot. Proceed on foot to the main entrance.
Guests should expect increased traffic and delays on Walt Disney World’s roadways during Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend.
