Resort Airline Check-In Service – What Is It?
Disney’s Resort Airline Check-In Service is a benefit offered to Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels who are departing on participating airlines from Orlando International Airport. You can check your luggage and receive your airline boarding pass right at your Resort hotel. The service is available if you are flying within the U.S. on:
- Alaska Airlines
- American Airlines
- Delta Air Lines
- JetBlue Airways
- Southwest Airlines
- United Airlines
Additionally, resort airline check-in service will be extended to those traveling on international flights on select airlines. You must have a valid passport for each member of your party to check-in.
How does Resort Airline Check-In Service work?
Visit the Resort Airline Check-In desk no less than 3 hours before departure time during operating hours (5:00 a.m. to noon daily). Flights leaving before 8:00 a.m will not be able to use Resort Airline Check-In. For families traveling together, a parent or guardian may check-in for his or her spouse and minor children. A valid government-issued photo ID and MagicBand are required to participate.
Which Walt Disney World Resort hotels offer Resort Airline Check-In Service?
The service is offered at all Disney-owned hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort. It is not available at Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotels, Shades of Green, or Downtown Disney Area resorts or Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort or Disney’s Vero Beach Resort.
How is Resort Airline Check-in affected by airline baggage fees?
Fees vary by airline. Guests should inquire with their specific airline as to what fees might apply. Guests flying on JetBlue Airways and Southwest Airlines will be subject to airline bag fees for “additional bags” past the airline’s allotment. These fees must be paid in advance of check-in at the Resort Airline Check-in desk. Guests flying Alaska, American, Delta, United, and US Airways who wish to check bags must pay their airline bag fees prior to checking in at the desk. Guests may contact Baggage Airline Guest Services at (407) 284-1231 between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m before checking in at the Resort Airline Check-In desk to pay any airline fees. The Resort Airline Check-In desk will have a record of the payment transaction. Guests under age 18 must have parent or guardian permission to call. Airline luggage fees cannot be collected at the check-in desk. Only normal-sized bags weighing no more than 50 lbs, will be accepted by the Resort Airline Check-in Service. Luggage must also comply with the airline’s size dimension baggage policy. Overweight and oversized luggage cannot be accepted at the Resort Airline Check-In desks.
Note: Some guests report being able to pay their airline baggage fees at the Resort Airline Check-In desk. At present, it is unclear if policies have changed across the board on just for certain airlines. If you have not paid your airline fees in advance, check with Resort Airline Check-In desk to see how fees for your baggage must be paid.
Can Guests not using Resort Airline Check-In call Baggage Airline Guest Services to pay their luggage fees in advance of checking in at the airport?
No. Only Guests using the Resort Airline Check-In service may call to pay luggage fees in advance.
What forms of payment are accepted by Baggage Airline Guest Services for excess luggage fees?
Guests must pay with a credit card. MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover Card are accepted.
If I am departing for an international destination, can I use the Resort Airline Check-In Service?
Guests traveling internationally can use the Resort Airline Check-In Service. All guests must be present at check-in and must have their valid passports available.

- This service is similar to curbside check-in at the airport. As such, you’ll want to be sure to tip your baggage handler.
- Guests who plan on using the Resort Airline Check-In Service at the resorts will need a confirmation number from the airline that shows the appropriate baggage fee has been paid if the payment was made online. Some airlines will not allow you to pay baggage fees online if you also check special items such as strollers, car seats, etc. It’s best to contact your airline and find the specific rules for paying for your baggage before attempting to do it online.
- If your airline ticket includes multiple airlines, Resort Airline Check-in may not be able to accommodate you. This holds true even if both airlines are owned by the same company, such as Southwest.
- In some cases, those who check-in online for their flight before going to the Resort Airline Check-In Service desk may not be able to check luggage because of having done so. If you intend to use the service, it’s best to check with the Resort Airline Check-In Service desk in advance about airline policies before checking in online yourself.
