Panama Canal Cruise Shore Excursions

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo Canopy Adventure – This adventure begins with a 75-minute drive to Boca de la Sierra, a UNESCO-protected site in the High Sierras. After the safety briefing, hang on tight as you zip from canyon side to canyon side on a series at a height of up to 200 feet above the ground. During the trip, go on a nature walk through the Mexican landscape. Walk across hanging rope bridges, including the “Commando Bridge”. Take the “Elevator” up and experience a thrilling 90-foot rappel down the canyon walls. End the trip with an 800-foot zip line back to base camp.

Cabo Dolphin Swim – Walk down the pier to the Cabo Dolphin Center. Meet the dolphin trainers and learn about dolphins, including their anatomy, physiology, natural history, and underwater communication system. Then, spend about 40 minutes swimming and interacting with the dolphins in a special pool. The highlight of this experience is when the dolphin propels you across the pool.

Camel & Mexican Outback Adventure – Travel on air conditioned transportation for a 30-minute ride to Paradise Coastal Ranch. Take a 20-minute nature hike, learning about the benefits of local plant life. Experience a 15-minute ride on a camel on a secluded beach. Join optional workshops on tortilla-making and the distillation of tequila. Then, you’ll enjoy a typical Mexican lunch.

Whale Watching & Deluxe Coastal Cruise (Seasonal) – Hop aboard a motorized catamaran at the tender pier for a 2-hour cruise in search of grey, humpback, sperm, finback, and blue whales. A naturalist will be onboard to talk about the different whales and their mating and migratory habits.

Cozumel, Mexico

Cozumel Beach Break – A 25-minute ride takes you to the Playa Mia Grand Beach and Water Park where you can relax on a beach chair or play in the water. Play in the Buccaneers Bay Swimming Pool, Oasis Island Pool, and/or the Twin Twister Waterslide. The following is included in your adventure: international buffet and domestic open bar, aquatic floating sports center, kayaks, water trampolines, aquatic iceberg, paddle boats, floating mats, water bicycles, ping pong tables, volleyball and soccer courts, and an entertainment team with a kids’ club.

Xcaret Eco Archaeological Park – A 45-minute ferry ride to Playa del Carman, a 15-minute walk, and a 20-minute air conditioned bus ride will bring you to the Xcaret Eco Archaeological Park. Once you arrive, you will enjoy a 30-minute float on an underground river or have a dip in the Caribbean waters. You will also explore the archaeological site, look through a botanical garden, see a wild bird-breeding aviary, and gaze at exhibits at the Museum of Mayan Archaeological Sites. Lunch is included with this tour.

Mayan Frontier Horseback Riding Tour – The trip to the hacienda Santa Emilia is a 25-minute drive in open-air vehicle. After arriving and listening to the safety briefing, it will be time to be assigned a horse. Horses are assigned based on the height, weight, and riding ability of the rider. All equipment is provided, including the mandatory helmet. Ride your horse back through time as you visit the Mayan frontier. Tour replicas of Mayan Ruins on horseback. The trail ride is about 90 minutes long and is followed by a return to the hacienda for a refreshing beverage. While at the hacienda, you have about 30 minutes to visit the working ranch before the return to the pier.

Cozumel Ruins and Beach Tour – Relax in an air conditioned bus for a 35-minute ride to the ruins of San Gervasio. You will have about 60 minutes to explore San Gervasio before boarding the bus for a 40-minute ride around the island on your way to the beach club. Spend 90 minutes of time at the beach club enjoying their many amenities:  Hobie Cat sailboats, a swimming pool, water icebergs, paddle boats, kayaks, floating mats, and water bikes.

Eco Park and Snorkel – Board an all-terrain, open-air vehicle for a 35-minute ride to Punta Sur Ecological Park. Once you are at the park, there will be stops at a crocodile-filled lagoon, an ancient Mayan structure, and the Punta Sur Lighthouse and Nautical Museum. After about 90 minutes of exploring, you will arrive at the beach. The beach portion of this tour lasts about 60 minutes with a chance to either soak up the sun on the beach or go on a beginner’s snorkel adventure.

Off Road Adventure to Jade Caverns – Hop in an X-rail off-road dune buggy and travel along jungle trails to the Jade Caverns. At the Jade Caverns, you can swim beneath the stalactite formations.

Salsa & Salsa – After a 30-minute drive, you’ll arrive at a beachfront resort where the “dancing chef instructors” are waiting to teach salsa and salsa. To start with, the “dancing chef instructors” will take you step-by-step through making a few Mexican salsas and margaritas. Next, the dancing chefs will teach you how to dance the salsa in 4 easy steps.

Key West, Florida

Snorkel, Kayak, and Dolphin Watching Adventure – Enjoy a 20 minute boat ride to the Key West National Wildlife Refuge where you will begin your 45 minute kayak adventure. Next, you will spend about 45 minutes snorkeling in shallow waters where you can see tropical marine life. After your snorkeling adventure ends, the boat will take travel to the “Dolphin Playground” where a resident pod of nearly 100 bottlenose dolphins live.

Old Town Trolley or Conch Train Tour – The trolley or train will travel through the streets of Key West. The trolley or train will pass by many different sights, including Earnest Hemingway’s house, Sloppy Joe’s Restaurant, and more.

White Knuckle Thrill Boat – You will get wet! Feel the thrill as the boat makes 360-degree spins, sideways slides, and other tricks for 30 minutes.

Presidents, Pirates, and Pioneers – This is a guided 2-hour walking tour of Key West’s famous and historical sights.

Back to Nature Kayak Tour – This tour begins with a boat ride to the Wildlife Sanctuary followed by a guided 90 minute kayak adventure on “sit-on-top” kayaks. Enjoy a complimentary cocktail on the boat ride back to the dock.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Dolphin Signature Swim – Take a 30-minute trip to the Dolphin Adventure Center in Nuevo Vallarta. After arriving, meet the dolphin trainers and learn about dolphins, including their anatomy, physiology, natural history, and underwater communication system. At Dolphin Lagoon, you will have a 40-minute in-water experience with the dolphins.  Dance with your dolphin and feed him a fish or two. Hold on tight as your dolphin pulls you through the water.

Outdoor Adventure – This adventure starts with a speedboat across Banderas Bay to the secluded shores of Boca de Tomatlan. Here you will board a 4×4 Unimog for an hour long trek off-road to base camp. Then, you will get your equipment and safety briefing, so you can switch to a mule ride to continue the climb up the mountain. After your 30-minute ride to the top, hold on tight as you zip down on a zip line up to 250 feet above the ground. After your flight through the air, hike along a path before rappelling down a waterfall. Splash through a streams and pools on the way back to base camp.

Pirate Boat Sail & Snorkel Adventure – Sail along Mexico’s coastline on a pirate ship on a 90-minute journey that includes a buffet-style breakfast. At a secluded beach, you will have about two hours to swim, kayak, and snorkel before boarding the ship again for a gourmet lunch in an air conditioned dining room. Pirate show included.

Whale Watching, Snorkeling, and Kayaking at Marietas Islands (Seasonal) – During a 2-hour catamaran cruise toward the Marietas Islands, watch for dolphins and impressive humpback whales. Look for dolphins, manta rays, and tropical fish during the 45-minute guided snorkeling adventure. See rocky caverns and archways on a 30-minute kayak trip. This is all followed by a deli-style lunch aboard the catamaran on the trip back to Puerto Vallarta.
