Disneyland’s Hyperspace Mountain
Disneyland’s Hyperspace Mountain is a reimagined version of the park’s classic Space Mountain roller coaster that was first introduced in 1977. As part of Disneyland’s ongoing Star Wars expansion, the ride was rethemed and reopened in 2015 as Hyperspace Mountain. While the ride remains Space Mountain most of the year at Disneyland, during limited times of the year for Star Wars Days, this attraction turns into Hyperspace Mountain.

At Disneyland in Anaheim, California, guests can experience Hyperspace Mountain, a fast paced roller coaster through the stars, in a galaxy far far away. The classic Space Mountain has been revamped to the backdrop of one of the most successful franchises, Star Wars. In the Disney Parks landmark, Space Mountain, guests are recruited by the Rebel Alliance to fight the evil Galactic Empire.
The ride takes guests on a thrilling journey through space, with a storyline that involves the Rebel Alliance battling against the evil Galactic Empire. The ride features an updated soundtrack and special effects, including projections of TIE Fighters, X-wings, and other ships from the Star Wars universe, that make riders feel as though they are part of an epic battle. Guests board their star-fighters two by two, in a six seat car. Instantly, guests are met with a blast of classic Star Wars music, as the Opening Theme plays while guests ascend into Hyperspace Mountain. This ride combines a classic Disneyland attraction, with a brand new overlay that brings together the old and the new.
Hyperspace Mountain is a popular attraction at Disneyland, particularly among Star Wars fans. It offers a unique and immersive experience that combines the excitement of a roller coaster with the iconic imagery and music from the Star Wars movies. The ride is suitable for guests who are at least 40 inches tall, and guests with back, neck, or heart problems, or those who are pregnant, are advised not to ride.
