Top Five Christmas Day Dining Experiences at Walt Disney World

The holiday season is rapidly approaching and if you’ll be in Walt Disney World during Christmas week or the week leading up to New Year’s, I hope you’ve made your dining reservations. (I made sure to make mine months ago!) If you haven’t stop what you’re doing and do it now! Wait, before you go make your reservations, let me share with you the table service restaurants for you to enjoy Christmas Day dinner.

Liberty Tree Tavern

  • Liberty Tree Tavern: Ok, if you haven’t made a reservation for Liberty Tree Tavern, well, good luck, because I don’t think you’re going to get in there at this point. However, the traditional turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, mac and cheese, and vegetable-heavy menu is perfect for this holiday meal. So, if you’re planning for 2016, consider making a reservation here.
  • Minnie’s Seasonal Dine at Hollywood and Vine: Looking for a great character meal option? Consider this brand new dining offering.  Minnie’s Hollywood Dine is a special buffet offering that features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy in their holiday attire.
  • Tusker House: Going to be in Disney’s Animal Kingdom? This is the only place in the park offering up a holiday meal.

The Wave

  • The Wave…Of American Flavors: While Chef Mickey’s is also offering a Holiday meal, The Wave will be the place to visit. The menu features locally-sourced food and is quite delicious. (PS: if you’re looking for a great Christmas breakfast, you should consider The Wave for that too…they have Sweet Potato Pancakes that are to die for!)
  • Whispering Canyon Café: The restaurant, which is famous for its down-home menu will be a special holiday menu, so you’ll have the fun of pony rides and bottles and bottles of ketchup mixed with a wonderful meal…if that doesn’t scream holidays at your house, I don’t know what does. (Plus, you’ll get to see the gorgeous tree in the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge!)

As for me, yes, I will be at Walt Disney World on Christmas Day, so where did I decide to make our reservation for? I went with Trail’s End at Disney’s Fort Wilderness. I decided that home cooking like fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, and shrimp were the perfect accompaniment for the holiday. We don’t really do ham or turkey much in our family anyway, so I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything!
