A stroll along World Showcase is all it takes to get me into the holiday spirit. The parks are all decked out to the max and visiting the hotels in their festive décor is an attraction by itself, but for me, nothing compares to a day listening to my favorite Epcot storytellers.

To fully enjoy the park make sure to arrive early, and square away the rides you may want to experience. Set aside some time for a meal, and start your journey around World Showcase.

It goes without saying that a visit to the American Pavilion is a must. Here Santa and Mrs. Claus are available for a perfect holiday picture.

Make sure to experience the spirit of Kwanzaa, a celebration of unity, creativity and pride. The storyteller is amazing! You also can discover the traditions of Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Light.

A most wonderful performance is given by the Voices of Liberty. Inside the Rotunda of the American Pavillion, dressed in their Dickens costumes, the a cappella group sings traditional Christmas songs, as well as a Hanukkah medley

My Five Favorite Epcot Storytellers

Listening to all the Epcot storytellers is nearly impossible to accomplish in one day.  Here are my 5 favorites:

The Mariachis and Folklórico Dancers in Mexico celebrate the holiday with music, and dances. Children are invited to play a role in the show, as the story of Mary and Joseph is told, set to the music of the “Posadas.” Las Posadas is a nine-day celebration beginning December 16 and ending December 24. Feliz Navidad!

Epcot Storytellers

In Norway Sigrid tells the story of Julenissen, the mischievous Christmas elf. The Christmas elf Julenissen, represents simplicity. It is tradition to leave him a bowl of porridge on Christmas night. God Jul!

Epcot Storytellers

Did you know that Germany is the home of the first Christmas tree? Throughout the afternoon Helga welcomes visitors to the Germany Pavilion telling the story of that very first Christmas tree, the advent calendar and the nutcracker’s origin. Frohe Weihnachten!

Epcot Storytellers

In Italy meet la Befana, the good witch who brings gifts to children on Epiphany, the night of January 5. Her performance is amazing; she is my favorite Epcot storyteller. Buon Natale!

Epcot Storytellers

France is home to the Père Noël, and he tells about a letter he received from a little girl called Babette. He explains the tradition of the Christmas crèche in the Provence and the Réveillon, the Christmas dinner, which includes a cake in the shape of a Yule log. Joyeux Noël!

Epcot Storytellers

Whatever your evening plans are, don’t miss the Candlelight Processional, featuring a celebrity narrator accompanied by a huge live choir and a 50-piece orchestra. The show takes place three times a day at the America Gardens Theatre. The concert is included with regular admission.

Epcot Storytellers

Last but not least, IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth has an enhanced Peace on Earth finale, and is not to be missed. For a complete schedule of all Epcot Story Tellers pick up a Times Guides or check the My Disney Experience app.

To all Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas!
