In just a few short weeks, the Walt Disney World Resort will be celebrating its 50th anniversary! With so many big things happening on October 1st, it’s hard for me to pick one thing that I am most excited about. On that special day though, I can tell you exactly where I will be. Over at EPCOT for the grand opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure! Here are few reasons why I am looking forward to this new addition and ready to ride Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure!

Opening October 1, 2021!

The World Showcase Needs More Rides

I am a huge fan of EPCOT festivals. I could stroll around the World Showcase all day, enjoying different snacks and drinks, and taking in the sights and sounds without riding a single attraction. In fact, I’ve done this. Many times. Sometimes though, I just want to ride something!

If you start your visit to the World Showcase with Mexico, you can check out the Gran Fiesta Tour and Frozen rides. Once you pass Norway though, well, that’s the end of the line for rides. If you start your loop on the Canada side, you have an even longer walk until you reach a pavilion with a ride. It’s clear that the World Showcase, and Epcot as a whole, could use some additional rides right now. Ratatouille will definitely help fulfill that need.

Kids Will Love It!

EPCOT has gotten a reputation as an adult park. While there are lots of things for kids to do, adding a new family attraction is certainly a good idea. Walt Disney World is all about celebrating families, kids, and kids at heart, so it makes sense to bring this sort of attraction to EPCOT. Guests can still enjoy the culture, décor, and food of the France pavilion, but now with the added excitement of a family-friendly attraction.

Raiding the Fridge with Remy and Emile

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure gives guests the experience of being shrunk down to the size of a rat. The entire attraction takes place from Remy’s perspective. There are sights, sounds, smells, and shenanigans. Even though this is certainly not a thrill ride, the trackless ride system makes each adventure unique. It’s also 4D, so you will feel completely immersed in the ride. I really think this is a ride you can experience again and again with your kids.

The Ride Will Utilize the Virtual Queue System

I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding virtual queues, but I am going to focus on the positive here. On the day of their EPCOT visit, guests will have the opportunity to join the virtual queue.  The nice part about this is that guests will be notified when it is time to ride. No waiting in line for hours! This will be great for younger guests (and somewhat impatient older guests, like me).

It’s So Much Fun!

OK, it’s confession time. The main reason I am so ready for Ratatouille is…I’ve already ridden it and loved it! I was fortunate enough to check it out at Disneyland Paris a few years ago, and more recently, I got to experience the brand new ride at EPCOT. I truly enjoyed it and I love that it is now a part of France in the Epcot World Showcase.

Cast Member, DVC, and Annual Passholder previews are already taking place and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will open for everyone on October 1st, 2021. I can’t wait!
