You may have heard me say this before, but I’m not a big souvenir buyer. But there are a couple of kinds of souvenir that I do buy. Coffee mugs, because I will use them every morning. T-shirts, because I will wear them. And Christmas ornaments, because every year when we decorate the tree, I’ll get a joyful reminder of a Disney trip from a previous year. My tree is up right now and I’m looking at my favorite ornaments! Here they are:

THE DISNEY DREAM

I picked this ornament up from onboard the Disney Dream during our only Disney Cruise. It was a magnificent ship, and we had a wonderful time. Even my often-Disney-fatigued husband said that he would definitely do another cruise. And I may or may not bring that up every time I see this ornament….

FROM THE EXPEDITION EVEREST GIFT SHOP

Over a decade ago, my family had a huge reunion at Walt Disney World. My daughter was too little for Expedition Everest, and, to be honest, I wasn’t sure if I would like it. So while the rest of my family when on this ride, I supervised the little ones and we browsed in the shop near the ride’s exit. I found this beautiful ornament and it hangs on my tree every Christmas. (For the record, when my husband got off the ride he told me I would love it. We went on, and I did!)

SLEEPING BEAUTY CASTLE

When my daughter was four years old, we went to Disneyland during December. The parks were decorated in their holiday finest, the characters were wearing their Christmas sweaters, and the gift shops were full of ornaments. This one was my favorite. It makes me smile every time I see Sleeping Beauty Castle on my tree!

CINDERELLA CASTLE

This one was a gift from a coworker, a Disneyland regular who was taking her first trip to Walt Disney World. We spent many lunch hours discussing her upcoming trip, and I gave her lots of advice. To thank me, she bought me this beautiful ceramic ornament. I’m so glad she had a good trip!

My tree is practically dripping with ornaments, and there are hardly any places to put new ones. But that won’t stop me. On my next Disney trip, whether that be on the East Coast, the West Coast, or on the sea, I will be buying another great ornament for my tree.
