No Disney experience is complete without meeting the big cheese himself – Mickey Mouse! There are opportunities to meet Mickey in each of the Disney parks as well as on any of the Disney Cruise ships. More unique, however, is getting to meet Mickey with his favorite gal pal, Minnie!
Meet Favorite Disney Pals at Adventurers Outpost on Discovery Island in Disney’s Animal Kingdom park provides guests with an opportunity to meet and pose for photos with both Mickey and Minnie. They are decked out in their safari gear and ready to head out for their next expedition.
The Adventurers Outpost experience opened on May 15, 2013. It is decorated with mementos from Mickey and Minnie’s travels, including photographs and souvenirs from their adventures in Africa and Asia.
Not only is Adventurers Outpost one of the only opportunities you have to meet both mice at the same time, for us it was also one of the best character meet and greet experiences we had in Disney World. Minnie played hand games with my daughter, and Mickey was patient and let my infant son play with his (rather large) nose. We didn’t feel rushed, and my children loved the quality time with their pals.
FastPasses are available for meeting Mickey and Minnie at the Adventurers Outpost. When we arrived the standby line was 45 minutes. With our FastPasses, we waited less than 5 minutes to meet the famous duo.
Adventurers Outpost is an indoor event, and in true Florida style it is air-conditioned. On a hot summer day that 45 minute wait might be a welcome escape from the brutal heat!
