Where to Get Your Chocolate Fix at Disneyland

Marceline’s Confectionary, Downtown Disney
To say that I love Disney parks and resorts in an understatement. And saying that I love chocolate is just as much of an understatement! Put those two things together, and I am one happy theme park goer.
Here are my top choices of where to go when you’ve got a hankering for chocolate at Disneyland:
GHIRARDELLI SODA FOUNTAIN AND CHOCOLATE SHOP – DISNEY CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE
Ghirardelli, a San Francisco based chocolate company, is known the world over as a fine purveyor of chocolates. And here in their Disney California Adventure location, you can enjoy their chocolate in a variety of ways: On a sundae, in a shake, in an ice cream cone, in a brownie, in hot cocoa, in coffee, or in good old fashioned bar form.
Occasionally, Cast Members here will give out free samples of Ghirardelli squares in different flavors. These are individually wrapped so you can stop by to grab one even if you’re not hungry and slip it in your bag for later!
CLARABELLE’S HAND-SCOOPED ICE CREAM – DISNEY CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE
If you happen to be on Buena Vista street in the mood for chocolate and ice cream, stop by this sweet shop. Here you can grab chocolate ice cream in a waffle cup or a sundae, including the enormous Kitchen Sink.
But the specialty here are hand-dipped ice cream bars. You choose you ice cream flavor and your bar will be hand-dipped into luscious chocolate and topped with the topping of your choice. I recommend The Whole Herd, which is all the toppings mixed together!
CANDY PALACE AND CANDY KITCHEN – DISNEYLAND PARK
In this charming Main Street, U.S.A. shop, you can find a delightful assortment of sweet treats. But my favorite thing to grab here is the fudge! If that isn’t your style, try the delicious chocolate covered strawberries.
The best thing about this location is that you can view candy makers at work through tall glass windows. Think of it as dessert and a show!
MARCELINE’S CONFECTIONARY – DOWNTOWN DISNEY
This is a great spot to grab a snack if you’re having a non-park day, or you’re taking a break from the parks in the middle of the day. Some people are tempted by the giant lollipops and elaborately decorated candy apples, but I am drawn to their chunks of pineapple dunked in dark chocolate and drizzled with white chocolate. And if you prefer something Mickey shaped and covered in chocolate, you’ll be in luck!
