Celebrate Dia de los Muertos at Frontera Cocina

Did you know that today is the celebration of Día de los Muertos? Día de los Muertos, otherwise known as Day of the Dead, is a tradition that began in central Mexico and celebrates a 3,000-year-old Aztec ritual. The holiday is a time to honor loved ones who have passed on by celebrating their lives and welcoming the return of their spirits to the land of the living once a year. This traditional Mexican holiday will be celebrated on both November 1-2 at Frontera Cocina with specific attention paid on food, drink, music, and family and friends.

This year, the brand new Disney Springs restaurant, Frontera Cocina will be celebrating the occasion, by having special Día de los Muertos decor up and a guitarist will play music for Guests to enjoy. In addition, servers will be wearing calavera makeup to celebrate the occasion. (You may know this style to be called Sugar Skulls. See my example below.)

Those who visit the restaurant will be able to hear the Chef will discuss what Día de los Muertos is and get a walk through at least one special recipe.

Here are some photos from this year’s event courtesy of Frontera Cocina!
