Everyone has a favorite restaurant at Walt Disney World but my family recently fell in love with Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant, located in Disney Springs. There is so much to do at Walt Disney World that we never have enough time to do everything we think we are going to squeeze in. We try to make time with every trip for new experiences and some of those often include a new dining venue.
When planning our most recent trip we took the family poll of which restaurants were on our priority list and I really wanted to try Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant. The rest of my family was somewhat indifferent but happy to give it a try if it was the one I picked. At one point, it was even almost bumped as Rivers of Light dining packages became available and we were debating that as an option to secure seating. Fortunately though, we resisted the urge to sacrifice this amazing restaurant for prime seating. (We did secure FastPasses for River of Light!)
We had reservations at 5:30 at Raglan Road on a day when we had spent part of the day at our resort and part of the day relaxing and wandering around Disney Springs. We found ourselves hungry and ready to eat though around 4:30 p.m.. I hated the idea of letting the littles snack that close to dinner time and we were right in front of the restaurant. I checked in at the desk and asked if there was any chance we could move our reservation up – they were happy to oblige! This earlier dining time definitely helped us secure great seats as the restaurant filled up quickly after our arrival.
Ragland Road prides themselves on being a true Irish pub just located in America – from the owners, chefs, entertainment and even the building itself. The moment you enter the building, it feels as if you have been transported across the ocean. The fun atmosphere envelopes you immediately and you can’t help but smile throughout your stay.
We had wonderful seating just two tables back from the main stage. The Rhythms of Raglan perform daily from 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM. This is a high energy show with live music, singing, and Irish dancing. It is great fun for the entire family. Part way through the performance, members of the group will invite kids from the audience to the stage to perform. They are taught a few steps and then share the stage with dancers hailing from Riverdance.
As if this alone wasn’t enough to draw you in, the food is amazing! Top chefs from Dublin have brought modern Irish cooking to Disney Springs and every dish we tried was delicious. A friend recommended the Nom Nom Wings as an appetizer and they were popular with our entire table. From the Keen Eye for the Shepherd’s Pie to the Serious Steak, the menu at Raglan Road has something to offer everyone!
Don’t forget to leave room for dessert!
As with most table service restaurants around Walt Disney World, advanced dining reservations are recommended. Before you leave the restaurant, take a quick look around the gift shop. You can purchase souvenirs from Rhythms of Raglan, Raglan Road Pub & Restaurant and a variety of Irish items. It’s a fun shop with souvenirs you won’t see anywhere else at Walt Disney World.
