Victoria Falls Lounge is nestled in between floors off the lobby at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Disney’s website states, “Sample suds from South Africa before or after dinner inside this intimate bar overlooking Boma restaurant.  A host of South African wines are also featured all of which can be enjoyed in the flickering ambience of the fire pit outside.”  This is my favorite place to visit after spending the day at Animal Kingdom and before dinner reservations at Boma or Jiko.  The bar boasts an abundant choice of liquor varieties and décor has a sophisticated yet rustic vibe.  Comfy couches and chairs invite you to sit back and relax for awhile.

The drink menu includes signature cocktails unique to Victoria Falls as well as the typical resort beverage menu found on Disney property.

Victoria Falls Specialty Drink Menu

The Victoria Falls Mist is mildly fruity without being overly sweet.  I would say it tasted more like kiwi than any of the flavors listed.  This was very refreshing without a strong alcohol flavor.

The Mt. Kilimarita  was also very good.  The splash of cranberry balanced out the sweet and sour mix making this a very smooth margarita.

The Skinny Coconut Mojito is off the regular resort drink menu.  I really enjoyed this one.  Tropical flavor that is again, refreshing without being overly sweet.

The lounge serves a variety of beers, wines and also a limited menu for snacking: Jiko Cheese Selection  ($15), Crisp Breads and Dips ($6), and Roasted Nuts with African Spices ($5).

On your next visit to Animal Kingdom Lodge, consider stopping into Victoria Falls Lounge for a drink or a bite and unwind a bit from your busy day at the parks.  The lounge is open from 4pm – midnight.  Service is very friendly and attentive.  The bar is seldom crowded and  in the late afternoon around 4:30, you can hear the bongo drummers that open Boma restaurant which adds to the ambience. At night, take your cocktail outside by the fire pit or view the animals on the savannah with night vision goggles. For all of the above reasons, Victoria Falls is a true hidden gem at Walt Disney World.
