Last week, I shared with you an overview of Disney’s Hawaiian Resort, Aulani – A Disney Resort & Spa. Today, we’re going to take a look at what a standard room experience is like.

When you first walk into your room at Aulani, you will see that it is very familiar, especially to those who have stayed at a Disney resort before. The well-appointed bathroom is on the left as you pass through the hallway. The room’s tones are ones of very dark woods, tans, whites, and blue accents. It’s not overly dark though. Instead, it feels very homey. The rooms almost remind me of what you would see at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. (Imagine that!)

The beds are queen size beds and extraordinarily comfortable. I loved the blue and white runner at the bottom of the bed. It was elegant, and had the trademark Disney touches! (Hidden Mickeys!) The best part is that the beds here are raised, so you can store your luggage underneath!

There is also a small table, so if you wanted to sit here and do some work or eat a snack, you could. There was also a dresser with a flat panel tv, a fan, mini fridge, blu ray player, and a coffee maker.

I loved the little porch, which has enough room for two chairs and a small table. It’s perfect if you’re looking to sit out there with a book and a cup of coffee in the morning.

The bathroom was nice as well, with lots of storage space, a shower/tub with a rain shower head. The toilet portion was in a separate cubby room. Oh and yes, there are special H20 products here specifically for Aulani!

The standard room overall isn’t huge, but given that we were only there one night and it was a place to sleep, we didn’t miss the additional amenities of one of the Suites or Villas.

We did not opt for a room with a view, again since the room was just a place to sleep for us. However, I was perfectly happy with our view, even if I did have to look over the resort’s parking garage for it!

The Standard Rooms at Aulani – A Disney Resort & Spa are quite lovely overall. Take a look at our video too!
