November is here, and I have to admit, I’m already looking forward to Christmas! Luckily for me, Walt Disney World seems to share my love for the holiday season. Christmas trees, Christmas lights, and holiday wreaths adorn Main Street U.S.A. throughout the holidays, making Walt Disney World even more magical.
I’ll be taking a trip to Walt Disney World this month, which happens to be the perfect time of year: Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Though I consider myself a veteran to Walt Disney World, I’ve actually never been to the Christmas Party, and I can’t wait! Here, I’ll share with you what I’m most looking forward to!
Any excuse to rock sparkly Minnie Mouse ears is a good excuse, if you ask me. I can’t wait to get dressed up for the holidays, bringing out my red and green Christmas sweaters! I’ll be attending the party with my best childhood friend, and we’ve been planning our party outfits and ears for weeks!
Unlimited cookies and cocoa
I have a serious sweet tooth; I’m actually drinking a hot cocoa as I write this post (I’m serious!). The prospect of wandering around the Magic Kingdom, sipping a hot cocoa and indulging in unlimited cookies is an absolute dream to me! There’s just something about cookies and cocoa that screams Christmas to me, so I plan to take advantage of these sweet treats!
Decorations and all things Christmas
There is nothing better than Main Street U.S.A. decked out in holiday flare! Walt Disney World knows how to do it; the transition from festive fall decor to Christmas wonderland is done overnight! The Christmas party takes place in the evening, when all of the lights will be brightly lit. I can’t wait for the castle to glisten with lights, the buildings of Main Street adorned with Christmas decorations, and more. Something extra special takes place during the party: “snow” will fall on Main Street!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Parades and Fireworks
Having never attended the Christmas party in the past, there are a few very unique experiences I’ve never had the pleasure of experiencing. The Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is a holiday classic, and it seems like a perfect activity to enjoy during the party! This parade is shown a few times during daytime regular park hours, but there’s something special about catching it at night during the party!
I’m also psyched to check out Holiday Wishes! Wishes is one of my favorite parts of a Magic Kingdom evening, and the addition of holiday magic might be excitement overload! Again, this fireworks show is shown on a few nights for regular park hours, but it will be especially nice to watch the show in a lighter crowd at the party.
Shorter wait times for attractions
One of the biggest perks of attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is the opportunity to enjoy the Magic Kingdom with lighter crowds. The party has a limited number of tickets sold, so parks won’t be nearly as crowded as they are during the day. I’m looking forward to riding some of my favorite attractions, such as Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, and Space Mountain! I’ll also have to take a ride on the Jingle Cruise, the holiday overlay of the Jungle Cruise. Since we’re allowed to enter the park at 4:00 PM and the party doesn’t technically begin until 7:00 PM, we’ll most likely get in some attractions with shorter waits, grab a bite to eat, and get some pictures taken while the crowds funnel out. At 7:00 PM, we’ll begin to get in some busier attractions!
