Walt Disney World Gingerbread Displays

Walt Disney World is known for their incredible decorations found at their resort hotels. These displays range from gigantic Christmas trees, to garland, to one of the most popular aspects, their gingerbread decorations. Many of the displays are indeed, works of art – taking months to design and create. Stopping at the resorts to see these gorgeous decorations is indeed, a popular part of many people’s holiday traditions. Oh and one of the best parts is the fact that due to the gingerbread in the displays, the lobby areas of these hotels have a wonderful ginger and cinnamon smell! It smells like Christmas!

With the Christmas weekend upon us, I thought we could take a look at the different displays. There are two different general areas that you’ll need to visit in order to see these gingerbread decorations. The first is around the Magic Kingdom Resorts and the second is at the Epcot area resorts.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Starting with the Magic Kingdom area, Disney’s Contemporary Resort has a display that focuses on the art style of famous Disney artist Mary Blair. The display features the characters from Frozen (Kristoff, Sven, Anna, and Elsa), as well as a Norwegian castle.

Of course, you can’t forget about Olaf. He’s there too, celebrating what he loves best…summer.

For Guests wanting to purchase a treat, there is also a shop where lots of goodies, typically themed after some Frozen character, are available for sale.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Of course, one of the most famous gingerbread displays at Walt Disney World is the one found at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. This display is a life-size gingerbread house and it features a ton of great details! From Hidden Mickeys, to sugar flowers, to chocolate molds, this display has it all.

Disney’s Beach Club

Moving over to Disney’s Beach Club Resort, they have one of the most unique decorations. They have an operational and deliciously sweet gingerbread carousel! Each year the horses are themed and the details are spectacular! It is so hard to believe that this is made entirely of edible items!

Of course, you can’t forget about the resort’s sister, Disney’s Yacht Club.  While it doesn’t have a gingerbread display, it does have an incredible train display with some fantastic Disney-inspired details.

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Our final stop today is at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. Disney’s BoardWalk doesn’t have a super fancy display, which is why it makes it in at last on my list, but it does have a shop made entirely from gingerbread! Ginger’s Bread and Cookie Shoppe features a lot of great decorative touches and sells yummy treats too!
