When we go to either Disneyland or Walt Disney World (or any vacation for that matter), we usually keep souvenirs like maps, postcards, and other things that will remind us of our trip.  Some of this, we scrapbook, but some we keep in small containers, so the kids can go back and look through them.  My son, especially, is a very tactile person, and it means a lot to him to be able to pull out a map and open it or to flip through postcards.

We moved in January, and we haven’t had time to unpack everything, yet.  The other day, my daughter found the container from our 2009 Walt Disney World trip.  Both kids tore into it, pulling out park maps and other things.

One of the things that was pulled out was the lid to this applesauce container.  {Yes, my kids had insisted that I keep this because it was so “cool” to have Mickey Mouse on it.  It was cleaned well!}  Yep, this missed the scrapbook, didn’t it?

They also found these postcards.  We had bought a few postcards for them to keep and sort through.

We also had the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and the Epcot Christmas brochures, too.

It’s always nice finding those lost memories!  The kids love to pull these out and look at them.  On a trip to Disneyland, we saved some Fastpasses, and my son loves to “use” those.  Maybe I shouldn’t say anything about the maps from last Fall’s trip to Disneyland that are currently in the back of the family car…  Sometimes, the “free” things are the best souvenirs, aren’t they?

Do you enjoy finding “lost” Disney trip memories?
