Out of all the pools at Disney Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort has got to be one of the best. One of the largest pools at Walt Disney World and exclusive to guests staying at the resort it has some features I haven’t seen anywhere else.

One of its cooler aspects is the sand bottom of each part of the pool. From the shallow kid area complete with sand castle supplies, to the bottom of the lazy river that snakes around the main pool, the sand between your toes always feels great.

Another amazing feature at Stormalong Bay is their waterside bar and grill, Hurricane Hanna’s. With good burgers, seafood sandwiches, and a pail and shovel when you order a kids meal, which I still sometimes do. The theming and the food provided here is top notch and a convenient break from the pool.

If you don’t feel like waiting thirty minutes after eating to swim around try floating in the lazy river! This unique park of Stormalong Bay has always been one of my families’ favorites. It’s always so relaxing to just lay on an inner tube and float along through the gentle waters. Or even just wading through the river with the gentle current around you if inner tubes aren’t your thing.

If you want a little more excitement in your pool activates then the slide here is right for you. The shipwreck you see as you get close to the pool is actually the top of this pools 230 ft. long slide! One of the highest in Disney and with is amazing attention to detail it’s definitely one of my favorite slides to visit.

If you came to the pool to do a little reading and sunbathing and maybe take a nap then Stormalong Bay has that too. With its huge amount to seating there’s room to find your own little hide out with, hopefully, the perfect sun to shade ratio provided by the many palm trees around the area. One of my personal favorite places to set up camp is the gazebo around the center of the pools. Climb up those stairs and you get a perfect view of the beach club and a perfect hide out to get your flawless tan.
