One of the restaurants that’s a fan favorite is Liberty Tree Tavern. Located in Liberty Square at the Magic Kingdom, this restaurant is known for serving up a meal that’s very similar to Thanksgiving dinner.

Liberty Tree Tavern is a family style meal, which means that there is a single menu that is brought to your table for the whole family to enjoy. This menu includes a salad, bread, main courses, appetizers, and dessert.

In this case, we started with a house salad and rolls. The rolls were standard issue….good, but I’ve certainly had better. The salad, which is called the Declaration Salad is tossed mixed greens with house-made dressing. Again, nothing special about this salad. If you’re looking for a salad, this will suffice.

As far as our main meal was concerned, we enjoyed what is called the Patriot’s Platter. We were provided with turkey, pork, and pot roast. For our sides, we got mashed potatoes, stuffing, macaroni and cheese, and green beans. Guests are also given a small thing of cranberries, as well as gravy.

Standouts were the pot roast, the stuffing, green beans, and mac and cheese. Again, if you’re coming here thinking you’re going to have the best food ever….well, you may be disappointed. If you’re coming knowing you’re going to have a solid meal….you’ve come for the right reason.

Dessert is what’s most often talked about in the Disney community. It’s the Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake, which is a Vanilla Toffee Cake, Chocolate Sauce, and Vanilla Ice Cream. It’s served warm and it’s definitely yummy.

The best part about your meal here is that all of the dishes are all you care to eat. So if you want any more of something, all you have to do is ask. We wanted more stuffing and were delivered a large bowl with more.

One thing to be aware of….currently due to the need to social distance, this restaurant is seating Guests in both the main Liberty Tree Tavern dining rooms, but they are also seating people next door in the Diamond Horseshoe Saloon.

For those who would prefer a plant-based meal, Guests are able to choose the Tavern Keeper’s Feast, which includes the Declaration Salad, Impossible Meatloaf with Mashed Potatoes, Mushroom Gravy, and Seasonal Vegetables, and Johnny Appleseed’s Warm Apple Cake.

Is Liberty Tree Tavern the best food you’re going to have at Walt Disney World? Certainly not. Is it a solid choice though? Definitely. Trust me, you won’t leave hungry!
