A big change is taking place for cancelling dining reservations at the Walt Disney World Resort. We’re talking a monumental change! You see, Guests can now cancel their dining reservations for table service meals up to two hours in advance of their scheduled time at most locations. Oh and what’s even better…you can cancel up to two hours prior without being charged a cancellation fee. Previously Guests who wanted to cancel Advanced Dining Reservations would need to do so 24 hours in advance, otherwise they would be charged a cancellation fee.
To cancel, Guests will need to go into their My Disney Experience app or visit DisneyWorld.com and click the cancellation button up to two hours prior to their scheduled time to cancel free of charge. For those who fail to cancel by then or are a no-show, the credit card provided at the time of reservation will be charged a $10 fee per person.
Keep in mind, there are some exclusions. This updated dining policy does not apply to Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, Victoria & Albert’s and Monsieur Paul. Each of these venues have their own dining cancellation policies that will remain as is.
Disney hopes that this change will allow Guests the ability to have more flexibility during their vacations. I know there have definitely been times when I needed to cancel day of, for one reason or another. Of course, this does potentially mean that it may be harder to get dining reservations prior to day of, but this does mean that last minute options may pop up now that were previously difficult to get.
