A few months ago, it was announced that Rafiki’s Planet Watch was coming back to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The land, which featured the Wildlife Express Train, Affection Section, and Conservation Station will reopen on July 11. During your visit to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of medical procedures at the veterinary treatment window, learn how animal care experts prepare meals for and care for the park’s animal residents and more, however with the re-opening of the land, Guests will be able to experience a brand new attraction – The Animation Experience.
The Animation Experience is similar to the attraction that used to be found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios where Guests could learn how to draw an animated character. The main difference here is that to celebrate The Lion King, Guests will be able to learn how to draw their favorite characters from the classic film. Options will include Simba, Zazu, Pumbaa, Timon and more. In addition, each session will be different, so you never know who you are going to draw.
For those who would like to experience The Animation Experience, you will be able to make a Disney FastPass+ reservation. Do keep in mind that you will have to take the train out to Rafiki’s Planet Watch in order to get to The Animation Experience, so make sure you head over there with enough time prior to your visit.
