Monday is Earth Day and in celebration on this day where we celebrate our planet, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be offering some special activities this weekend from April 20-22 with their Party for the Planet event. Party for the Planet invites park Guests to connect with nature and explore.
This weekend, Guests will be able to see how Disney cares for animals at the parks courtesy of the park’s animal care specialists, as well as learn from experts on how to save endangered species worldwide.
Another unique option for the weekend will a special dining experience that features Imagineer, Joe Rhode. With these Tiffins Talks which take place from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Guest will be able to enjoy a 4-course lunch at Tiffins featuring global dishes, desserts and specialty beverages. The cost for this meal is $199 plus tax and gratuity. Reservations can be made by calling 407 WDW-DINE.
Looking for another way to meet Joe Rohde during the Party for the Planet? You can do so at Mombasa Marketplace from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. on April 20 and 22, where he will be on hand to sign his own unique artwork, a commemorative lion print that will be on sale throughout the event while supplies last. Do keep in mind that a wristband will be required to meet him and a limited number of wristbands will be distributed with purchase of the commemorative lion art at the signing location, on the day of each appearance. Also, keep in mind that only 2 items will be signed per Guest and you cannot bring any personal items to be signed.
This weekend, Guests should also be on the lookout for the marine debris sculpture in the Oasis that celebrates the Disneynature film, Penguins. Guests will meet unique characters, take part in special entertainment, and take part in special Disney PhotoPass photo opportunities.
