Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is, hands down, one of my favorite special events that happens at Walt Disney World. I love everything about the Magic Kingdom hard ticket event. I love the parade, I love the costumes, I love the trick or treating, and I love the fireworks. This year, it appears that I’ll be getting a new fireworks show, though!
This new spectacular, which has yet to be named, will tell the story of the trick-or-treating journey of Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy who find themselves drawn into a mysterious haunted house. (Spooky!) As the story unfolds, they will go from one room of the house to another, where they will encounter spooky things like dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts and yes, a whole series of Disney villains. This show will feature many different stories told through projection on the castle.
The show definitely sounds intriguing and while Happy Hallowishes wasn’t super scary, I do feel that this show may be a bit more family friendly. (Happy Hallowishes revolved around the Haunted Mansion’s Ghost Host who celebrated his favorite holiday with his favorite Disney villain friends.)
This new show is the first new show for the party in 14 years. Typically, the fireworks show takes place at around 10:15 p.m., however, the actual schedule for this year’s event has not yet been released.
In addition, another new feature for this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is that there will be the Frontierland Costume Promenade, which features prospector Cactus-Flower Cate who will round up kiddos and encourage them to show off their costumes for candy!
This year, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party will run on select nights from August 16 to November 1. Tickets for the party are now on sale.
