Do you have a Walt Disney World vacation this holiday season? If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you’ll be able to take advantage of extra time in the park, for the temporary time being! That’s because to celebrate the holiday season, from December 19, 2021 through January 3, 2022, the early theme park entry benefit for Disney Resort hotel Guests and Guests of other select hotels will be extended from 30 minutes to 60 minutes.
This option, gives Guests early entry to any theme park, every single day.
This new benefit is available to Guests of participating Disney Resort and select hotels. Take a look at the full list of hotels that can take advantage of this option here.
For those wishing to take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry, Guests will need valid admission and a park reservation made via the Disney Park Pass system to enter a theme park.
Disney Genie+ Changes for the Holidays
But that’s not the only change for the holiday season! From December 19, 2021 through January 3, 2022, more attractions will be available through the Disney Genie+ service, as they will not be included as an individual Lightning Lane entrance purchase option! They include:
- Magic Kingdom: Space Mountain
- EPCOT: Frozen Ever After
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
(Individual Lightning Lane purchases will still need to be made for those wishing to experience select attractions. They include Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and Avatar Flight of Passage.)
Introduced earlier this year, Disney Genie+ allows Guests to purchase the ability to utilize the Lightning Lane entrances. With this service, Guests have the opportunity to experience more than 40 attractions across all 4 theme parks with less wait time. (This is similar to how FastPass+ worked.) Disney Genie+ service costs $15 per Guest per day. More details can be found here.
