We previously announced that Disney Polynesian Village Resort would not be reopening on the originally announced reopening date and instead, the resort would see a lengthy refurbishment. As we shared previously, work will included enhancements to the Great Ceremonial House, as well as Guest rooms. That refurbishment work starts on September 28, with the closure of the porte cochere and front entrance, as well as the front desk, which will be moved to a temporary location at Pago Pago, building #11ÂÂÂ.
The good news is that the Great Ceremonial House will be open, with most work taking place Sunday nights through Thursday nights, from 10:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m. That specific work will begin on October 4. Operating hours for many of the shops and restaurants in the Great Ceremonial House will be adjusted beginning October 4:
- Kona Café: Sunday–Thursday: 7:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m., Friday & Saturday: 7:30 a.m.–9:00 p.m.
- Moana Mercantile: 8:00 a.m.–9:30 p.m.
- Pineapple Lanai: 10:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.
- Tambu Lounge: Sunday–Thursday: 2:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m., Friday & Saturday: 4:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
In addition, another big change is that the monorail station at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be closed beginning November 2. More information about transportation options for Guests will be shared soon.
When the refurbishment is complete, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will feature a new porte cochere, entryway, and a modified monorail station. The Great Ceremonial House will feature a more sophisticated, cleaner design.
The Resort is now scheduled to reopen in mid-July 2021, however The Villas and Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will remain open during this refurbishment.
