Big changes are coming to those who stay at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels! Complimentary MagicBands are going to be no more as of January 1, 2021. That’s because in 2021, Disney will unveil an innovative new offering as part of the My Disney Experience app. This change will bring the features of a MagicBand to your smart devices.
For those who would still like to use a MagicBand on your vacation and are staying at a Disney hotel, you will continue to have the option to be able to purchase MagicBands at a discounted price. Those Guests who prefer not to purchase a MagicBand will be able to use the My Disney Experience app or a Key to the World card during their vacation.
For those who would like to purchase MagicBands, they will still be offered for sale in retail locations and on shopDisney.com. So, never fear! Guests will be able to continue using them throughout Walt Disney World Resort, they just won’t have to, if they don’t want to.
