It’s time to celebrate! What are we celebrating? Festival of the Lion King, of course! A few months ago, the popular stage show was announced to be returning. While the show has been preparing to officially return, it’s been testing over the past week or so. But the official reopening date for the Disney’s Animal Kingdom show will be on May 15!
Of course due to distancing measures, the show has been changed up just a little bit. Guests will still be able to experience the same incredible performance as always, but the staging and choreography have been updated. This is due to keeping safety protocols in mind for both performers, as well as Guests. In addition, a few parts of the show have been removed. This includes things like the acrobatics.
Keep in mind that currently the parks are still physical distancing as part of health and safety measures. That means that the opportunity to view A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King will be very limited. Guests looking to see this show should make sure to check the My Disney Experience app for the latest showtimes.
Disney also hinted that more exciting entertainment additions will be coming in the next few months! What would you like to see return next?
