We are at the halfway point until the holidays which means it’s time for the Walt Disney World Resort to share what they’ll be doing this year to celebrate the 2022 Christmas holiday season.
This year, the holidays will kick off on November 11 with special activities and more at all four theme parks.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
The party will be back for 2022 in its full glory! Guests will be able to celebrate the holiday cheer at the Magic Kingdom on 24 select nights from November 8-22, 2022. Full details can be found here.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
This season, the newest EPCOT attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will feature a seasonal overlay! The playlist will be a mash-up of seasonal jams. Guests will blast off to the tune of an awesome holiday single, bringing joy to Xandar and Terra, too.
Candlelight Processional
EPCOT will celebrate the return of “Candlelight Processional” during EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays beginning November 25. This is a beloved long-standing tradition that showcases a choir, orchestra, and celebrity narrator performer telling the story of Christmas at America Gardens Theatre.
Merry Menagerie
Disney’s Animal Kingdom will offer a delightful experience courtesy of the Merry Menagerie. These are life-size, artisan-sculpted puppets that look like winter animals. They are truly incredible and so fun to interact with.
Holiday Projection Displays
As a special yuletide gift for Guests, each park celebrates the season with delightful and unique heartwarming holiday-themed displays on the four Walt Disney World icons. That means that Cinderella Castle, Spaceship Earth, the Tree of Life, and the Tower of Terror will all celebrate with fantastic projection displays.
Say Hello to Santa Claus
Are you wanting to tell Santa what’s on your list for 2022? Well, you’ll be able to find Jolly Old St. Nick in a number of places throughout the resort. Catch him cruising down Hollywood Boulevard in his red convertible at Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the Santa Claus Merry Motorcade. He’ll be able to be seen on the Discovery River as part of a festive flotilla at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Santa Claus will continue to spread the joyous spirit of the season during visits to Magic Kingdom, as well as at Disney Springs where Guests may have individual time to take photos and share their Christmas wishes. Finally, at EPCOT, Santa Claus will join storytellers from around the world as a part of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. The EPCOT Festival of the Holidays will kick off on November 25
Dining
Returning to EPCOT will be the Holiday Cookie Stroll. This is a sweet scavenger hunt during the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. In addition, the festival will also offer menus of traditional and inspired adaptations of holiday dishes from around the world at special Holiday Kitchens.
Select dining locations throughout Walt Disney World will celebrate the season with tasty winter-inspired dishes. More details about those dishes will be shared soon.
Disney Springs
The Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll will be back! Here elaborately themed Christmas trees that have drawn inspiration from beloved characters, and at resorts across Walt Disney World will be on display throughout the shopping and dining district.
At Disney Springs, Guests who visit Town Center will experience a magical snowfall. In addition, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar will becomes Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar and will feature yuletide touches alongside festive food and craft cocktails.
Additional Holiday Fun
Just in time for the holidays, “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios adds a festive finale, featuring everyone’s favorite snowman, Olaf.
In addition, Disney PhotoPass photographers will have holiday-themed Magic Shots at all four Walt Disney World theme parks. There will also be a new Disney PhotoPass Lens and virtual backdrops at the Disney PhotoPass Studio at Disney Springs.
