Get ready for a whole new Minion adventure at Universal Studios Florida! That’s because Universal Orlando Resort has just announced that they are bringing a whole new Minion-themed land to their park, anchored by a new attraction called Villain-Con Minion Blast.
This new interactive attraction combines innovative screen technology, state-of-the-art gaming interactivity and elaborate physical sets. It will create a one-of-a-kind, game-based adventure where Guests encounter immersive environments, nefarious villains and tons of Minions. Villain-Con Minion Blast transports guests to Villain-Con, which is the biggest criminal convention on the planet. While visiting, Guests will be able to take part in a competition to see if they have what it takes to become the newest member of The Vicious 6. For those unaware, The Vicious 6 is a notorious group of supervillains from “Minions: The Rise of Gru.”
Guests will grab an interactive blaster and step onto a motion-based pathway. Here they will put their skills to the test. During their experience, Guests will wind and glide through various scenes. They earn points by blasting a variety of items and causing as much mayhem and destruction as possible.
Villain-Con Minion Blast will be a unique, mischief-filled experience. This attraction is replacing the now closed Shrek 4D.
In addition, the newly-designated Minion Land will include the existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem as well as a new Minion Cafe. (The cafe is rumored to be going in the place of the former Monsters Cafe.)
