Well, let’s try it all again! The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa are currently slated to welcome Disney Vacation Club Members once again beginning on May 2. This is the second attempt at reopening this particular resort. The first time was back in December. Unfortunately, due to rising COVID numbers it caused the reopening plans to be put on pause.
Right now, during the initial phase, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will only be open for DVC Members. During the initial reopening period, most resort dining, amenities, activities and services will be limited in capacity. Some may even be unavailable based on physical distancing and health guidelines.
Reopening this hotel will include the guidance of government and local health authorities. This includes the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in addition to the U.S. Travel Association. Disney will also constantly consult their team of health professionals. A top priority for the hotel will be promoting health and safety for both Guests and Cast Members.
Currently, this is the only hotel that will be reopening at the Disneyland Resort. The other Disney hotels including the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and the remainder of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will remain closed and will reopen at a later date. Also, of note is that Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure will remain closed. The theme parks will reopen at a later date, pending state and local government approvals.
Hopefully with the reopening of the Villas we will see additional hotels and even the theme parks reopening at the Disneyland Resort soon.
