Have you ever wanted to sail of out Asia? Well, for the first time ever, Disney Cruise Line will be allowing Guests that opportunity.
Disney Cruise Line and the Singapore Tourism Board have agreed to homeport a brand-new Disney cruise ship. This ship will sail exclusively from Singapore for at least five years beginning in 2025.
The ship that will sail from Singapore will be the new ship that Disney purchased back in November 2022. Disney acquired a partially completed ship that is being converted into a new Disney Cruise Line vessel.
“This is a very exciting year for The Walt Disney Company — 2023 marks our 100th anniversary,” Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro said. “As part of this, Disney Cruise Line is currently undergoing an ambitious expansion with new ships and new destinations around the world. We are incredibly excited to make Singapore the home port to our seventh-launched ship, which will sail from here year-round starting in 2025.”
About Disney’s Newest Cruise Ship
The new ship will feature innovative Disney experiences. It will also include the entertainment, dining and guest service that Disney is known for. There will be dedicated spaces for Guests of all ages. There will also be interactions with favorite characters like Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse, Disney Princesses, Marvel Super Heroes and more.
It is estimated that the ship will hold approximately 6,000 passengers with around 2,300 crew members. It is expected to be among the first in the cruise industry to be fueled by green methanol, one of the lowest emission fuels available.
More details about the maiden voyage, itineraries and onboard experiences will be announced at a later date. Disney also has the Disney Treasure also in the works, which will debut in 2024.
