{"id":982,"date":"2010-10-14T02:51:10","date_gmt":"2010-10-14T06:51:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_travel_adventures\/?p=982"},"modified":"2022-05-05T00:26:18","modified_gmt":"2022-05-05T04:26:18","slug":"sogni-dolci-at-palo-on-the-disney-cruise-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/sogni-dolci-at-palo-on-the-disney-cruise-line\/","title":{"rendered":"Sogni Dolci at Palo on The Disney Cruise Line"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the Disney Cruise Line, Palo is the specialty upscale restaurant with a Northern Italian influence in an elegant, world-class adult only setting.\u00a0\u00a0 Fine dining at its best on the high seas, I had to \u201cwonder\u201d (no pun intended) about my decorum on my most recent cruise when it was my desire to order not one, not even two, but three desserts after a very filling meal of antipasto, Gorgonzola and<strong> <\/strong>Grape Pizza, and Lamb<em>.<\/em> Really, I just wanted to sample a taste of each and it was too difficult to just choose one (or two).\u00a0 \u00a0To make matters more complex, my parents were dining with my wife and I and it was their first experience at Palo.\u00a0 Would my Southern upbringing be somehow disgraced in front of my mother?<\/p>\n<p>I broached the subject gently with our server who assured me when I asked about partaking in multiple desserts that many people ordered more than one.\u00a0 How about three I asked to which he replied with a smile that it was not shameful behavior of an adult man.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>So I threw caution to the wind and ordered three of the most decadent desserts I\u2019ve ever consumed (with full intention on sharing them with the table of course):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pineapple and Almond Ravioli:\u00a0 lightly poached pineapple filled with an almond mousse<\/li>\n<li>Chocolate Amaretto Indulgence:\u00a0 silky milk chocolate, fresh berries on an almond biscotti base with a chocolate sauce drizzle<\/li>\n<li>Panna Cotta:\u00a0 sweet white cream custard with fresh berries (my personal favorite dessert item on the Palo menu)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now table space can be an issue when you have three desserts in front of you and the glances of other guests dining are certainly that of envy.\u00a0 And one would think that just a bite of each would be sufficient.\u00a0 But somehow I actually managed to not only finish each of my three desserts, but I achieved the feat of being able to sample my dad\u2019s amaretto gelato and my wife\u2019s Chocolate Souffl\u00e9 (my mom\u2019s dessert was not sampled as she also ordered the souffl\u00e9)!\u00a0 Okay, I did share mine with my wife and parents &#8211;
