Welcome to the French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square!<\/em><\/p>\r\n After going the longest I\u2019ve ever gone without visiting Disneyland<\/a> since my very first visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, my family returned to Disneyland Park<\/a>! We visited with friends and family, and it was so good to be back.<\/p>\r\n The interior of the French Market\u00a0Restaurant at Disneyland Park<\/i><\/p>\r\n We loved the atmosphere, the entertainment, the socially distanced character sighting, and, of course, the food! We decided to visit an old favorite, the French Market<\/a> in New Orleans Square, for lunch. Chicken Caesar\u00a0<\/em>salad<\/i><\/p>\r\n We decided to visit before noon, since that is peak time at most Disneyland counter service restaurants. Because our party was so large, we did have difficulty finding a table, but it was relatively easy to find a table for four. At one point, a large party left their seats so we were able to grab that table. Jambalaya<\/em><\/p>\r\n It was a hot day so I wanted something cold. I opted for the Cajun-style Chicken Caesar Salad for $11.99. The salad was pre-packaged, which is definitely a new thing. Pre-COVID, I have gotten freshly tossed salads at this location. Wedding Cake<\/em><\/p>\r\n A note for vegetarians: There are a couple of vegetarian items on the menu, but they were all hot. My sister-in-law is a vegetarian and did not want a bread bowl of soup or a pasta. She ordered the same salad as I did and picked the chicken off. If you are in the same situation, I recommend asking if they can toss you a fresh salad to order and simply leave the chicken off.<\/p>\r\n A very macabre slice of wedding cake<\/em><\/p>\r\n For dessert, I couldn\u2019t resist a slice of the ghostly, Haunted Mansion-themed Wedding Cake. This was absolutely delicious. It reminded me of my own wedding cake, which was a black forest cake with white frosting. The chocolate sponge was very moist and the cherries gave it a nice sweetness. The cream cheese frosting that was in between the layers had just the right amount of sweetness, but I found the buttercream on the outside of the cake too sweet. The dark chocolate ganache flower that decorated it, however, was super rich and not too sweet at all. This ranks up there with one of my favorite desserts I\u2019ve ever had in Disneyland Park. <\/p>\r\n Have you tried enjoyed the French Market lately? The French Market features shaded outdoor seating with a nice view of the New Orleans Square train station. Mobile ordering is available at this restaurant, but we had some questions about some of the menu items and the line to order was not long at all, so we decided to go inside. This restaurant features pasta, salads and sandwiches all with a New Orleans touch. The greens were crisp and fresh, and the chicken was moist with just a hint of seasoning. I would have been happier if the Cajun seasoning packed more of a punch. The croutons were wrapped separately so they maintained their crispiness.<\/p>\r\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/WeddingCake-400x320.jpg\")

My daughter is a non-adventurous eater and went for the Chicken and Rice kids\u2019 meal. It came with a mandarin orange and a choice of drink. My husband got the Jambalaya which he enjoyed very much.
All in all, I love the French Market, but I\u2019m hoping they will return to preparing salads made to order in the future.<\/p>\r\n
