However, we found all were available at the local grocer or online.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Sriracha Peanut Sauce and Noodles<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u00bd Cup Smooth Peanut Butter<br \/>\n4 Tablespoons Hot Water<br \/>\n1 Tablespoon Sriracha Sauce<br \/>\n1 Teaspoon Soy Sauce<br \/>\n1 Teaspoon Toasted Sesame Oil<br \/>\nJuice and Zest of one Lime<br \/>\nTwo Ramen Noodle packages (flavor packet discarded)<\/p>\n<p>Mala Shrimp<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">1 Pound Extra Large Raw Shrimp Shelled and deveined<br \/>\n1 Tablespoon Chinese cooking wine<br \/>\n1\/4 Teaspoon Salt<br \/>\n1\/4 Teaspoon Ground White Pepper<br \/>\n1\/4 Cup Cornstarch<br \/>\n4 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil Separated<br \/>\n3-5 Dried Red Chili Peppers (we used Thai Peppers form our garden)<br \/>\n10 Sichuan Peppercorns<br \/>\n1 Tablespoon Doubanjiang<br \/>\n2 Garlic Cloves Grated (also from the garden)<br \/>\n1 Ginger Thumb (about 1 \u00bd Tablespoons grated)<br \/>\n\u00bc Teaspoon Sugar<br \/>\n1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce<\/p>\n<h2>First Make the Sauce<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_80105\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-80105\" style=\"width: 376px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-80105\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Sauce-376x400.jpg\" alt=\"Festival of The Arts Sichuan Red Hot Shrimp\" width=\"376\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Sauce-376x400.jpg 376w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Sauce.jpg 564w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 376px) 100vw, 376px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-80105\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">You should be able to stir the sauce easily when you are done. The Sriracha Sauce has a tendency to separate so give the sauce a final stir before you add it to the shrimp.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The sauce does not require any cooking unless you call hot water from the tap cooking!\u00a0 In a medium bowl mix the peanut butter and the hot water to liquify the peanut butter a little.\u00a0 Next add all the remaining sauce ingredients (Sriracha Sauce, Soy Sauce,\u00a0 Toasted Sesame Oil, Juice and Zest of one Lime).\u00a0 The sauce will be thick but you should be able to stir it easily.\u00a0 Once added to the noodles it will liquify more.<\/p>\n<h2>To Make the Festival of the Arts Sichuan Red Hot Shrimp you need to be prepared<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_80106\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-80106\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-80106\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/All-Prepped-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"Festival of The Arts Sichaun Red Hot Mala Shrimp\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/All-Prepped-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/All-Prepped-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/All-Prepped.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-80106\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">There&#8217;s going to be a lot going on once you start cooking so you need to have all the food measured and prepped.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Once you start cooking you&#8217;ll need to manage the noodles and the shrimp at the same time.\u00a0 In addition the shrimp is a two step process.\u00a0 Therefore proper preparation is essential.\u00a0 The first step should have been to make the Sriracha Peanut Sauce.\u00a0 Next you should prep the remaining ingredients.\u00a0 Combine the Mala ingredients in one dish (Chili Peppers, Peppercorns, Doubanjiang, Garlic, Ginger, Sugar and Soy Sauce).\u00a0 This makes it easier when the ingredients are used.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_80107\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-80107\" style=\"width: 336px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-80107\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Shrimp-Marinating-336x400.jpg\" alt=\"Festival of the Arts Sichuan Red Hot Shrimp\" width=\"336\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Shrimp-Marinating-336x400.jpg 336w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Shrimp-Marinating.jpg 504w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 336px) 100vw, 336px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-80107\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">While the shrimp is marinating you should prepare for the next steps.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Next, marinate the shrimp in the Chinese rice wine with the salt and pepper.\u00a0 Marinate the shrimp for 10 minutes in the refrigerator. Meanwhile, get a saucepan ready to cook the noodles and a wok ready to cook the shrimp.\u00a0 We don&#8217;t own a wok so we used a saucier (a large pan with short sides).\u00a0 A Saucier works but a wok with it&#8217;s round bottom, is much better.\u00a0 Follow the directions on the ramen package to determine how long the noodles need to cook.\u00a0 With 5 minutes left in the marinating time start bringing your ramen water up to temperature.\u00a0 Then, start to heat the wok to a medium\u00a0 heat.<\/p>\n<h2>Making the Shrimp<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_80108\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-80108\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-80108\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Shrimp-in-Bag-2-400x252.jpg\" alt=\"Disney's Festival of the Arts Sichuan Red Hot Mala Shrimp\" width=\"400\" height=\"252\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Shrimp-in-Bag-2-400x252.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/Shrimp-in-Bag-2.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-80108\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">While you coat the shrimp in corn starch make sure your wok has achieved medium heat.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Heat three tablespoons of oil in the wok at medium high. Remove the shrimp from the marinade and place in a plastic bag.\u00a0 Add the corn starch and shake the bag to coat the shrimp with cornstarch.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_80110\" id=\"caption-attachment-80110\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The shrimp is done when it turns red.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Place the shrimp in the wok and cook, stirring constantly, until the shrimp turns red ( 2- 3 minutes).\u00a0 While the shrimp is cooking, cook the Ramen noodles.\u00a0 Remove the shrimp from the pan when they turn red.\u00a0 Wipe the pan clean (here&#8217;s here a wok works class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Mala flavors in the oil are combined when the oil turns red.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the pan.\u00a0 When heated, add all the mala ingredients except the doubanjiang.\u00a0 Stir fry until aromatic.\u00a0 Tur the heat to medium low.\u00a0 Add the doubanjiang and stir fry until the oil turns red.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-caption-text\">The final Shrimp Product has a deep, rich red color and quite a bit of heat.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Return the shrimp to the pan.\u00a0 Mix the shrimp and the oil quickly.\u00a0 Add one tablespoon soy sauce and mix this in as well.\u00a0 Remove from heat.<\/p>\n<h2>Assembly<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_80112\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-80112\" presented as they do in Epcot.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Take the Ramen Noodles out of the water as soon as they are done and place in a bowl.\u00a0 Add the Sriracha Peanut Sauce to the noodles and stir.\u00a0 Place the noodles in the bottom of a dish (or a martini glass for the full <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/walt-disney-world\/parks\/epcot-park\/\">Epcot<\/a> experience) and arrange the shrimp on top.\u00a0 Do not serve the chili peppers.<\/p>\n<h3>Adjustments<\/h3>\n<p>We used soy free soy sauce without any loss in flavor.\u00a0 This dish has incredible heat.\u00a0 We&#8217;d reduce the heat by cutting the mala flavorings in half.\u00a0 OK, one of us would, the other liked the heat as is.<\/p>\n<div id=\"recipe\"><\/div><div id=\"wprm-recipe-container-80113\"
