Topolino’s Terrace is elegant, has excellent food and it’s the only place in Disney World you can view three nighttime spectaculars. Also, Topolino is Italian for Mickey Mouse.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We were lucky to get our reservation during Fireworks at Disney’s Topolino\u2019s Terrace<\/a>. Elegant and with excellent views of three different nighttime spectaculars we believe that Topolino\u2019s Terrace will soon be one of Disney Worlds hardest to get reservations.<\/p>\n

Topolino\u2019s Terrace is welcoming and elegant<\/h4>\n

Topolino\u2019s Terrace is located atop the Riviera Resort<\/a> on the 10th<\/sup> floor. From the minute the elevator doors are opened you are welcomed by opulent warm golds and silvers. Surrounding the reception desk are glass cases featuring the fresh pastas, wines and traditional French and Italian Ingredients. It\u2019s a mouth-watering display. A stylish, comfortable waiting room is on the left. In the waiting room you can enjoy a cubist painting and impressionist landscapes featuring Mickey the artiste. But the real gem is the window at the back of the room. This window gives you a great view of Epcot\u2019s Future World and the Magic Kingdom\u2019s fireworks.<\/p>\n

The receptionist told us that Topolino\u2019s Terrace was running late for our 7:45 reservation and we were told that we would have to wait twenty minutes. This was OK by us and we headed to the terrace at the back of the restaurant to watch the fireworks.<\/p>\n

From the terrace you had a nice view of the Hollywood Studios on the right and a more limited view of the Magic Kingdom\u2019s on the left. The view was limited by the roof of the resort but lets face it-the view was still tremendous. The terrace itself has a bar and a large seating area (and a great view of the Skyliner). This will be a great place for a nice evening. We managed to see just a bit of the fireworks before we were called into the Restaurant for our reservation.<\/p>\n

At Disney’s Topolino\u2019s Terrace you May come for the View but Stay for the Food<\/h4>\n

As stylish as the restaurant is the real star is the food. The chefs at Topolino\u2019s Terrace are committed to the French and Italian Riviera theme. The food is lighter and less sauced than Parisian food and features more seafood than an Americanized Italian restaurant. Even the bread service came with both Italian (light) and French (rich\/fruity) olive oils.<\/p>\n

The escargot is the best you can get at Walt W+Disney World.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We started with two appetizers; Escargot en Coquille (snail in shell) and Heritage Hog Terrine. Years ago we ordered Escargot in the French Pavillion. Stu wanted no part of snails when he was 8 despite being a very adventurous eater. Now he\u2019s 32 and this was his go to appetizer. This Escargot was a garlicy, lemony delight. But, the Heritage Hog Terrine was even better. The terrine (a meat and pistachio mixture cooked and sliced) was served with a finely chopped and cooked down heritage apple. Together they were delicious.<\/p>\n

A Meal Good Enough to Interrupt the Fireworks at Disney’s Topolino’s Terrace<\/h4>\n

As soon as I got outside to view Epcot’s fireworks dinner arrived. The food was too good to miss but the fireworks were great to view from the inside too.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

After the appetizer the Epcot<\/a> fireworks began. At 10 floors, Topolino\u2019s Terrace is eye level with the nighttime spectacular. I headed to the terrace to take a few pictures. I was out there for just a minute when Stu tracked me down as our server was worried that the just delivered entrees would have to be sent back to the kitchen. Stu relayed that the server was afraid that the food would be ruined if kept warm. Then Stu said that he really seemed concerned about the food. Based on the high quality of the appetizer I had no choice but to respect his concerns. I returned to the table and but was able to continue to enjoy the fireworks throughout the meal.<\/p>\n

The Filet Mignon was perfectly prepared and a delight to eat.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Our two main dishes were Sole Meuni\u00e8re and Filet Mignon. For those unfamiliar with Sole Meuni\u00e8re it is a small, mild flat fish that is coated in flour, saut\u00e9ed in oil and served with a lemon, butter sauce. For those familiar with Sole Meuni\u00e8re Topolino\u2019s terrace serves an excellent version atop sea beans and capers with roasted petite potatoes. The Filet Mignon was a perfect medium rare (as I requested). The cut was excellent, and it just melted on the tongue. The charred torpedo onion was so good that I looked up how to grow it at home. I thanked the waiter for calling us back.<\/p>\n

Disney’s Topilino\u2019s Terrace Celebrates Artistry with Beautiful Desserts<\/h4>\n

I tried to take pictures of each dish before we dove in but the dessert I had was so beautiful, so mesmerizing that I forgot to take a picture until after the first bite. The Pistachio mousse was egg shaped bright green and glossy with thin dancing swirls of chocolate and a field of deep, rich, Morello cherries. As good as it looked, it tasted better. Stu\u2019s Fruits of the Forest had layers of hibiscus cake layered with black currant mousse, blueberry sorbet and a variety of macerated (steeped and softened) berries. To properly steep the berries each was halved \u2013 even the blueberries. We were awed by the care and effort it takes to halve a blueberry. The Fruits of the Forest was a treat for the eyes as well as the stomach.<\/p>\n

\"Dessert\"
This picture does not do the Pistachio Mousse justice. Especially since I could not wait and dug in before the picture was taken.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Like all fine dining experiences at Disney World, Disney’s Topolino\u2019s Terrace is expensive and time consuming. However, if you want to enjoy the view but not the meal seats in the bar area do not require a reservation. While you can, come on up, have a drink and enjoy the view.<\/p>\n
