Welcome to Flo’s V8 Cafe<\/em><\/p>\n

The Disneyland Resort<\/a> has many great quick service spots. When I\u2019m in California Adventure<\/a>, I love to eat at one in particular. Right in the middle of Cars Land is Flo\u2019s V8 Caf\u00e9<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On a chilly but not cold November evening, I got to eat here with my daughter and some friends. The entire place was decked out for the holidays. This being Cars Land, the decorations all had a certain automotive air.<\/p>\n

Flo\u2019s is themed after a mid-century gas station. All around the caf\u00e9 are nods to Flo\u2019s previous career as one of the Motorola Girls. Classic late fifties and early sixties tunes play inside the building.<\/p>\n

Even when it\u2019s not Christmastime, the nods to all things Cars are still evident. If you happen to find yourself in a long line (as we did) take the time to notice the signage and d\u00e9cor!<\/p>\n

I ordered the Cobb de Ville Salad, which is lettuce, turkey, bacon, bleu cheese, hard boiled egg and vegetables, for $10.99. For dessert I went with a Flo\u2019s Classic Vanilla Shake for $5.99<\/p>\n

My daughter ordered off the kids menu: a micro beef burger with fresh fruit, baby carrots and a bottled water. We decided to splurge and get this in a Lightning McQueen collectible car. This came to under $20. If you just want the meal, it\u2019s $7.99.<\/p>\n

We ate in the section of the restaurant that is themed towards the great racer Hudson Hornet. Another section is dedicated to Flo\u2019s singing career, and another has huge glass windows where you can watch the cars on Radiator Springs Racers whizz by. If the weather is nice, which is usually is in Southern California, you can eat on the patio which also spots fantastic views.<\/p>\n

I loved my salad. The bacon and bleu cheese made the whole thing so flavorful that I was halfway done before I realized I never put any dressing on it. Truthfully, it didn\u2019t need any.<\/p>\n

The shake was thick and creamy, so thick, in fact, that the paper straw it came with just wasn\u2019t enough. Be sure to ask for a spoon if you order one of these shakes. It was large enough to share with my daughter. (She was especially interested in the chocolate cookie crumble \u201cgravel\u201d on top.)<\/p>\n

Flo\u2019s remains one of my favorite places to eat in the park, but be warned that even with the large seating areas, this place can get very busy at peak mealtimes. We arrived later than I wanted to, at about 6:20, and lines were long. I recommend an 11:00am lunch time or a 5:00pm dinner time for short lines. And breakfast here is also great!<\/p>\n
