The Gran\u00a0<\/span>Destino<\/span> Tower at Disney\u2019s Coronado Springs Resort<\/a> is one of the most recent additions to the Walt Disney World resort family. I had the chance to spend the weekend there recently and <\/span>thoroughly enjoyed my stay<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span> It’s a beautiful resort with great amenities, making it a great choice for couples and families.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Gran\u00a0<\/span>Destino<\/span>\u00a0Tower was my first experience staying at the Coronado Springs Resort and I am afraid that it may have left me a little spoiled! Everything is gorgeous and brand new. It felt rather luxurious for a\u00a0<\/span>\u201c<\/span>moderate<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0resort.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Gran Destino Lobby<\/h2>\n

The lobby of the resort is beautiful. The elegant lighting is striking and the open floor plan makes you feel\u00a0<\/span>welcome<\/span>\u00a0immediately. My favorite aspect of the lobby was the smell. You will\u00a0<\/span>often\u00a0<\/span>hear Disney fans talk about the smell of the\u00a0<\/span>lobby at\u00a0<\/span>Polynesian or the Grand Floridian. Well, this hotel has a smell al<\/span>l its own and it i<\/span>s delightful!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We checked in ahead of time on the My Disney Experience<\/a> app and our room was ready when we arrived. If you check in on the app, you can use your\u00a0<\/span>MagicBan<\/span>d<\/span>\u00a0or the app to open the door of<\/span>\u00a0your room, so there is no need to visit the front desk. I love this feature. It\u2019s so convenient!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since we were all checked in, we headed straight to the elevator with our luggage. The elevator was\u2026interesting. Instead of just pushing a button, you have to select your floor on a touch screen. The screen then indicates which elevator\u00a0<\/span>you should\u00a0<\/span>to proceed to. If you hop in any old elevator, you may not make it<\/span>\u00a0to the floor you need to reach!<\/span>\u00a0This took a little getting used to, but after doing it once or twice, we were pros!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Resort Rooms<\/h2>\n

Our room was very clean and comfortable.\u00a0<\/span>Disney<\/span>\u00a0seems to be moving to hardwo<\/span>od-<\/span>type flooring and clean, white bedding in many of their hotels and this one was no exception.\u00a0<\/span>Some think this lacks theming, but I thought it looked great!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The bathroom was very modern.\u00a0<\/span>I loved the look of<\/span> the shower and it was a nice size. <\/span>I preferred having glass doors instead of the usual shower curtain. <\/span>The only issue is that with glass doors, you have to close off the entire bathroom if you want privacy.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>The sink area was nice and open which made it easy for two people to get ready at the same time<\/span>, but if someone was in the shower, this could get awkward <\/span>(<\/span>depending on who you are staying with<\/span>)<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dining Options at Gran Destino<\/h2>\n

As much as we loved the room, we were excited to venture out\u00a0<\/span>and<\/span>\u00a0see <\/span>all\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0<\/span>the other things the hotel had to offer. There is a bar downstairs and some comfortable seating if you are looking for a place to grab a drink and relax. Your other option is to go all the way to the top floor to visit the Dahlia Lounge.\u00a0<\/span>This is where we ended up and we were not disappointed!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The view from<\/span>\u00a0the patio seating of<\/span> the lounge is simply spectacular. You can see the entire Disney property from up there! I loved being able to see the glow of Galaxy\u2019s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the top of Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach at night.<\/span>\u00a0Gorgeous!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The menu consists of tapas and small plates<\/span>,<\/span>\u00a0as well as a variety of drinks. We settled on the Artisanal Manchego Cheese Vertical, which<\/span>\u00a0I discovered<\/span>\u00a0is a really fancy way of saying, \u201cincredibly delicious cheese.\u201d We also really enjoyed sipping drinks in the relaxed atmosphere. It was the perfect way to end the night.\u00a0<\/span>Even if you don\u2019t stay at the Gran\u00a0<\/span>Destino<\/span>\u00a0Tower, I would recommend a visit.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Barcelona Lounge<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

T<\/span>he\u00a0<\/span>only thing the\u00a0<\/span>Tower seems to be lacking is a quick service restaurant. A quick serve option does exist within the overall resort, but guests will have to visit another building<\/span>\u00a0to access it<\/span>. On the morning of our departure, we were looking for a quick breakfast and didn\u2019t want to have to go to another part of\u00a0<\/span>the property to find one. Instead, w<\/span>e opted for some simple pastries and coffee at the\u00a0<\/span>Barcelona Lounge.\u00a0<\/span>The pastries were good, but we weren\u2019t overly impressed with our nitro cold brew coffee. I would certainly go back, but would try a different drink next time.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I absolutely loved my stay at The Gran\u00a0<\/span>Destino<\/span>\u00a0Tower. The hotel lobby and rooms are elegant, clean, and inviting. I can\u2019t wait to go back and\u00a0<\/span>I think it\u2019s safe to say that I have found a new favorite Disney resort.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
