\"\"<\/a>It started with a simple e-mail from a friend.\u00a0 Before Disney had even announced their new \u201cLet the Memories Begin\u201d promotion, I was planning a surprise trip to Disney for myself and my two girls with my husband\u2019s blessing for New Year\u2019s weekend.\u00a0 That was back in April and now here we are, less than 30 days away from the Christmas morning surprise.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know how it\u2019s all going to play out.\u00a0 We\u2019ve never surprised them before.\u00a0 The girls, now 12 and 14, have always known about our Disney trips well in advance and have been in on the dining reservations and everything.\u00a0 This time will be different.\u00a0 They\u2019ll have just 3 days to get ready and all the plans are made already.\u00a0 Even I\u2019m not completely sure where we are eating and which parks we are visiting!<\/p>\n

How did we get from there to here?\u00a0 My friend lives in\u00a0Australia.\u00a0 Her daughter has been friends with my girls since their first visit to our home in 2003.\u00a0 We were both members of the MouseForLess group and realized that we would both be at\u00a0Disneyworld\u00a0at the same time during the Christmas season.\u00a0 Part of their trip to the\u00a0U.S.\u00a0took them through our area and I invited them to stop by so that we could meet before heading down to\u00a0Florida\u00a0where we\u2019d meet up again.\u00a0 We reunited in 2007 at\u00a0Disneyworld\u00a0and everyone had a great time.\u00a0 Since that time, the girls have kept in touch by mail and now by Facebook.\u00a0 So when I heard that they were coming back to the states, I couldn\u2019t resist a chance to get everyone together again even if for a short time.\u00a0 But how was I going to do all of the planning without giving anything away?\u00a0 Fortunately our travel agent at The <\/strong><\/a>Magic for Less Travel<\/a><\/strong> and my good friend pitched in and did all of the work for me.\u00a0 The only thing left to do was book a flight and keep everything a secret.\u00a0 This was easier said than done!\u00a0 We started this whole process back in April.\u00a0 It\u2019s been so hard playing it straight when the girls have mentioned going back to\u00a0Disneyworld\u00a0or when my oldest mentioned that she asked her friend when she was coming back to the states.\u00a0 Fortunately, I have a few Disney junkie friends that I can talk to and who will keep my secret.<\/p>\n

And so now the time is near.\u00a0 The plan is to have a large box filled with Disney Mylar balloons wrapped and under the tree.\u00a0 When the box is opened Christmas morning, if all goes well, the balloons will pop up and out and a sign attached will read, \u201cYou\u2019re going to\u00a0Disneyworld!\u201d\u00a0 My husband better make sure he has that video camera ready.\u00a0 That\u2019s the first part of the surprise.\u00a0 Seeing their friend at our first dining reservation when we get there is the second part of the surprise.\u00a0 So if you want to find out whether we pull this off or not, stay tuned.\u00a0 Part II of this blog will be posted soon!\u00a0 Keep your fingers crossed.<\/p>\n
