There is a different theme each year. This year <a href=\"https:\/\/disneyparks.disney.go.com\/blog\/2019\/09\/its-halloween-time-at-the-hotels-of-the-disneyland-resort-with-spooky-new-decor-sweet-treats-and-special-offers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oogie Boogie<\/a> is quite the spooky masterpiece!<\/p>\n<p>The villain of Tim Burton\u2019s Nightmare Before Christmas stands over 4 feet tall at the entrance to the Grand Californian<\/p>\n<p>Executive Pastry Chef Jorge Sotelo walked around inspecting the creation on the morning I visited. He was happy to answer any questions and was lavished praises upon his team that created Oogie Boogie.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-74541 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Jorge-Sotelo-with-Oogie-Boogie-400x323.jpg\" alt=\"Grand Californian Executive Pastry Chef | Oogie Boogie\" width=\"400\" height=\"323\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Jorge-Sotelo-with-Oogie-Boogie-400x323.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Jorge-Sotelo-with-Oogie-Boogie.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Sotelo informed me that they started by using rice crispy treats as the mold for the tasty sculpture. Then they place fondant on top.<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out several <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/2015\/01\/hidden-mickeys-field-guide-walt-disney-worlds-best-kept-secrets-review\/\">hidden Mickeys<\/a> around the sculpture and made sure I knew there were 13 to find. Some Hidden Mickeys can only be found if you view the creation from above.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-74546\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Hidden-Mickeys-around-the-display-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Hidden-Mickeys-around-the-display-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Hidden-Mickeys-around-the-display.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>2 of the 13 hidden Mickeys around Oogie Boogie<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There are so many details through out the creation. From leaves to bugs to other Nightmare Before Christmas characters hidden in the cauldron.
