This is a vacation, after all, and you don\u2019t want to be so intent on rushing from your Anna and Elsa meet-and-greet to get to your Seven Dwarfs Mine Train<\/a> FastPass+ Reservation<\/a>\u00a0that you forget to look around and enjoy the magical, beautiful atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Here are my top places where you can relax, take in the ambiance, and people watch at Walt Disney World:<\/p>\n

THE FOUNTAIN OUTSIDE GASTON\u2019S TAVERN<\/a><\/h2>\n

A relatively new addition to the Magic Kingdom<\/a>, the Enchanted Forest section not only offers fun new rides, attractions and dining spots, but each area is themed so well that you feel like you stepped into a film. This spot, in particular, makes guests feel as if they are in Belle\u2019s sleepy little village. Go into Gaston\u2019s, buy a drink or a snack, and park yourself by the fountain. If you manage to sit here and watch Guests meet the hilariously egotistical Gaston, so much the better.<\/p>\n

OUTDOOR SEATING AT THE BACKLOT EXPRESS<\/a><\/h2>\n

Disney’s Hollywood Studios<\/a> has been going through a lot of changes over the past couple of years, and they\u2019re certainly not done yet! But for now, you can still order a quick service meal, a snack or a beverage, sit in these outdoor tables, and have a pretty decent view of Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple<\/a>, where children learn the ways of the Force. It\u2019s still unclear if this will continue once Star Wars: Galaxy\u2019s Edge<\/a> opens on August 29, 2019, but for now, this is a real treat, even if you don\u2019t know any of the younglings on the stage.<\/p>\n

ALONG THE BOARDWALK<\/h2>\n

Many Walt Disney World fans know that the Boardwalk features traditional hotel rooms, villas, dining and shopping. But sometimes it\u2019s worth it to take a break to just hang out on the Boardwalk and enjoy the spectacular views. Grab a slice of pizza, a snack or a drink and watch street entertainment or the crowds pass by. When you get tired of that, turn around and gaze across Crescent Lake.<\/p>\n

THE BRIDGE BETWEEN FRANCE AND THE UNITED KINGDOM<\/h2>\n

There are so many cool places to relax along Epcot\u2019s World Showcase that it was hard for me to narrow it down to just one! I love the bridge between France and the United Kingdom. Just leaning on a railing, gazing across the water, you can feel like you\u2019ve been transported to old Europe.<\/p>\n

THE LOBBY AT THE POLYNESIAN<\/p>\n

Pretty much all the lobbies at the various Walt Disney World resorts are good places to relax and people watch. But the Polynesian<\/a> is my favorite. Comfortable seating, tropical music, and families who have just checked in wearing their leis all combine to make this a favorite spot of mine. On the last day of my vacation, when I know I\u2019ll be heading back to the real world, I love to sit here, watch excited guests checking in, and know that before long, I\u2019ll be where they are.<\/p>\n
