\"Safari\"<\/p>\n

All the talk lately about Disney’s Animal Kingdom<\/a> has revolved around Pandora – The World of Avatar<\/a>, but there is one attraction that has been a stand out since the beginning – Kilimanjaro Safaris<\/a>. If you are a newbie to this park, this would be one of my top \u201cto-do\u201d attraction. It is truly a great for all ages!<\/p>\n

Guests will board an open air Jeep vehicle and travel through the Harambe Wildlife Reserve.\u00a0The ride is much like the Jungle Cruise<\/a>, in that the Cast Member will point out animals and often throw out some humor along the way. However, here, the animals are all real! That’s right…that lion and elephant you see…they are actually alive out there!<\/p>\n

On this attraction, you will see a variety of animals roaming around during your ride. Since these are live animals who have the ability to roam, some of them will be able to get incredibly close to the vehicle and some might be a little harder to see. The driver will help point out the majority of the animals so you don’t miss them.<\/p>\n

In 2016, a nighttime safari<\/a> was introduced. I have never experienced this but I would guess it would be cool as animals are typically more active in comfortable weather.<\/p>\n

A helpful tip: Make sure you FastPass this attraction. Why? Well the animals are free roaming. If there is a group of animals along the path blocking traffic, the safari vehicle needs to wait for the animals to pass. This does cause some back ups for this ride. However, if you have a FastPass, you don’t have to worry as much about the unpredictability that Guests in the standby line would have to experience.<\/p>\n

The majority of the waiting lines for the safari, are shaded and have some TV monitors along the way to help entertain you during the wait. Guests are not allowed to bring strollers on the ride, but there are Cast Members there to take your strollers as you are about 1\/2 way through the queue.<\/p>\n
