And that does not take into account 12,000 doubloons and the\u00a02,050 pounds of confetti showered onto guests along the parade route.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-60411\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras-Float.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras-Float.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras-Float-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This year, the constellation-themed parade features dancers, colorful stilt performers, and 12 handcrafted floats. The\u00a0parade begins right next to the Horror Make-Up Show and heads straight to the New York section of the park. Passing Revenge of the Mummy, the parade turns left towards Universal Music Plaza, then left once more, into the Hollywood section of the park, to end where it started.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-60412\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras4.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras4-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My personal favorite spot for parade viewing is in the New York section of the park. A spot near\u00a0Finnegan\u2019s Bar &amp; Grill or Louie\u2019s Italian Restaurant is great for taking pictures. If you are willing to arrive early, you can even grab a chair from Louie\u2019s and sit until the parade starts. Doing so, however, will stop you from enjoying the fun going on at the French Quarter Courtyard.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-60414\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Float-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Float-1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Float-1-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Little Jester\u2019s\u00a0parade viewing area is located next to the now-closed\u00a0<em>Terminator 2:3D<\/em>\u00a0attraction and is reserved for families with kids. This section is perfect for parents who wish to exit the park quickly once the parade is over. The\u00a0Annual Passholder\u00a0viewing area is in front of Mel\u2019s Drive-In. This section is great for viewing, but it\u2019s not so good if you wish to take pictures of the floats.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-60418\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras3-400x267.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras3-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However, Mel\u2019s Drive-In and the Horror Make-Up Show Theater are perfect for viewing the parade twice because the parade starts and ends there.\u00a0The viewing area for guests with disabilities is located\u00a0in front of the Macy\u2019s facade in the New York section of the park, right next to the Revenge of the Mummy attraction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-60417\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Mardi-Gras2-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Best of all, Mardi Gras festivities are included with admission to Universal Studios Florida, so\u00a0wear your best purple and gold, and join the fun and excitement of the Big Easy, Florida style!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-60419\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Gator-Float.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Gator-Float.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/Gator-Float-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Concerts<\/h2>\n<p>On select nights, catch live performances from\u00a0some of New Orleans\u2019 most talented brass bands, bringing the sounds of the Bayou to the French Quarter Courtyard, while bands such as\u00a0Fitz and the Tantrums\u00a0and\u00a0Fifth Harmony\u00a0take the stage at Universal Music Plaza. The plaza is open to the general audience (standing only) with a small reserved viewing area for guests with disabilities. If you want to get close to the stage, I recommend you claim your spot hours before the concert starts, especially for the more popular musical acts. Some fans arrive as early as 10:00 a.m. to be in line to dash to that front row spot as soon as the plaza is opened to the public.
