While we still have a few more days left in 2016, it’s time to start getting excited about 2017, as there will be many new experiences for Walt Disney World Guests in 2017. \u00a0In the new year, guests will be able to indulge in new lands, new attractions, new dining experiences, and much more!<\/p>\n
Starting with Disney’s Animal Kingdom<\/a> which will welcome a long-awaited addition to its park.\u00a0 Pandora- The World of Avatar, created by James Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment, will be brought to life in 2017 and guests will enter the a world inspired by Cameron\u2019s blockbuster film, AVATAR<\/em>.\u00a0 Guests will be able to soar above the jungles of Pandora on a Mountain Banshee on Avatar Flight of Passage.\u00a0 A family-friendly boat ride will sail through the bioluminescent rainforest, Na\u2019vi River Journey.\u00a0 Pandora- The World of Avatar, will boast its own dining location, the Satu\u2019li Canteen, and an eclectic drink kiosk, Pongu Pongu.\u00a0 Wintraders will be the place for shoppers to get their Na\u2019vi cultural items, toys, and science kits.<\/p>\n Another long-awaited experience will arrive at Animal Kingdom in the new year \u2013 Rivers of Light.\u00a0 Rivers of Light is an experience for all of your senses \u2013 light, water, fire, all moving and dancing to an original score.\u00a0 This production will take you on a journey celebrating nature and the circle of life between humans and animals.\u00a0 It\u2019s all part of the newer experiences that transition day into night at Animal Kingdom.<\/p>\n \u00a9Disney<\/em><\/p>\n \n Epcot <\/a>will welcome a new festival \u2013 the Epcot International Festival of the Arts<\/a>!\u00a0 In fact, it will be like a new festival for each of the six weekends it runs, January 13 –\u00a0 February 20 (Fridays through Mondays).\u00a0 Visual, culinary, and performing arts will be featured and artwork and performances will be changed out each weekend.\u00a0 For the foodies, Disney\u2019s culinary team will appeal to your eyes as much as your taste buds.\u00a0 Art lovers will get to see various media throughout the festival.\u00a0 And guests are in for what I consider the best treat of all \u2013 songs performed from some of Disney\u2019s Broadway hits, The Lion King, Newsies, and Aladdin.\u00a0 These top acts will be performed at the American Gardens.<\/p>\n The force is strong at Disney\u2019s Hollywood Studios<\/a>.\u00a0 A new, seven hour tour comes to the Studios for ultimate Star Wars fans. The Star Wars Guided Tour <\/em><\/a>includes reserved viewing for \u201cStar Wars<\/em>: A Galaxy Far, Far Away,\u201d; a journey on Star Tours \u2013 The Adventures Continue; an opportunity to participate in Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple (for Guests age 4-12); a guided exploration and character greetings at Star Wars<\/em> Launch Bay; dinner at a quick-service restaurant featuring Star Wars<\/em>-themed items; the Star Wars<\/em>: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party; fireworks viewing and more.\u00a0 This tour will be offered on Mondays and Saturdays.\u00a0 A new stage sequence, \u201cStar Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away,\u201d <\/em>\u00a0will also make a debut.\u00a0 With the debut of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story<\/em>, Launch Bay was updated with new props from the movie.\u00a0 Footage has also been added to the behind-the-scenes film in Launch Bay Theater.<\/p>\n \u00a9Disney<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Disney Springs<\/a> continues to grow and open more doors to dining establishments.\u00a0 An old favorite turns a new leaf as the former Fulton\u2019s Grab House is reimagined as Paddlefish<\/a> with a new sleek look.\u00a0 Seafood lovers will enjoy a new build-your-own boil and other fresh seafood.\u00a0 Steaks and chops will also be featured on the menu.\u00a0 Paddlefish will offer fantastic\u00a0 views of the water and Disney Springs from its rooftop bar.\u00a0 Sunday brunch will also be an option for guests.<\/p>\n Another location gets a makeover.\u00a0 The Planet Hollywood Observatory has gotten a makeover by celebrity chef, Guy Fieri.\u00a0 Guys\u2019 burgers, sandwiches, and cocktails will be featured along with cocktails names inspired by space.\u00a0 Planet Hollywood Observatory is still the go-to for Hollywood fans featuring movie memorabilia, video, music, and themed merchandise.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Sister to Orlando favorite, Ravenous Pig, The Polite Pig will bring Floridian cuisine to Disney Springs.\u00a0 A variety of wood-fired smoked and grilled items will be featured on its lunch and dinner menus.\u00a0 The Polite Pig will also feature a unique beverage program that serves all drinks on tap including it\u2019s wine, beer, and other cocktails.<\/p>\n For guests interested in wine, master sommelier George Milliotes will uncork his first Disney wine bar in a space that resembles a winemaker\u2019s estate at Wine Bar George.\u00a0 Oak wood and cozy lighting will set the stage for wines to play a starring role, while small plates of food will be offered as well.<\/p>\n If you want a unique and special dining experience, or maybe just have an affection for Disney\u2019s beloved monorail, the Highway in the Sky Dine-Around is coming in 2017. \u00a0Offered on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, guests can dine around the monorail loop with a stop at each of the monorails resorts.\u00a0 Begin with a cocktail at Disney\u2019s Contemporary Resort, have appetizers at Disney\u2019s Polynesian Village Resort, dinner at Disney\u2019s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and return to the Contemporary for dessert, cordials, and coffee.\u00a0 It\u2019s truly a unique monorail loop experience.<\/p>\n Wilderness Lodge<\/a> will see an expansion with Disney\u2019s newest vacation club property, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney\u2019s Wilderness Lodge Resort opening.\u00a0 The new property will feature new deluxe villas and waterfront cabins.\u00a0 The Lodge will open a new quick-service restaurant as well as a new bar & grill.\u00a0 In the summer of 2017, a reimagined Hidden Springs Pool will open as part of Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney\u2019s Wilderness Lodge<\/a>.\u00a0 This near area, Boulder Ridge Cove, will feature an expanded sun deck and zero-entry pool.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n![\"Na\u2019vi](\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/DAK_AVATAR-640x420-400x262.jpg\" "\\"New"){kind=avatar}
