{"id":5015,"date":"2013-03-20T23:32:43","date_gmt":"2013-03-21T03:32:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_ms_news\/?p=5015"},"modified":"2022-05-04T21:06:57","modified_gmt":"2022-05-05T01:06:57","slug":"disney-springs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_world\/disney-springs\/","title":{"rendered":"Disney Springs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By: Rikki Niblett<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5020\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5020\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5020 \" alt=\"Disney\" src=\"https:\/\/www.themouseforless.com\/blog_ms_news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/DS-Waterfront-640x360.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5020\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Disney<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Have you heard the news?\u00a0 Downtown Disney is going to be seeing some MAJOR changes over the next few years.<\/p>\n<p>Being renamed as Disney Springs, the new version of Downtown Disney will take it\u2019s cue from Florida waterfront towns and will include meandering springs, open air promenades, incredible shopping, great new entertainment options, and wonderful restaurants.\u00a0 The new area is set to increase the number of venues in the district to double, from 75 to 150.<\/p>\n<p>Disney Springs will now focus on four different neighborhoods to help bring this new adventure to life.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In the Town Center<b>,<\/b>\u00a0guests will get to experience a mix of shopping and dining along with a promenade where guests can relax, refresh and reconnect.\u00a0 Next will be commercial district, The Landing which will be a colorful area with inspired dining and beautiful waterfront views.\u00a0 The Marketplace will still exist, with an expanded World of Disney store, as well as an over the water walkway.\u00a0 Finally, The West Side will continue to offer lively entertainment, as well as new elevated spaces that provide both shade and an overlook to the activity below.<\/p>\n<p>This project will also take on an issue that has been so prevalent in Downtown Disney, parking.\u00a0 Two new parking garages are going to be built.\u00a0 One will be found on the West Side and one in the Marketplace section.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDisney Springs will be a timeless, vibrant place where Walt Disney World guests and local residents can relax, shop, dine and be entertained in an imaginative setting where they\u2019ll instantly feel at home,\u201d said Tom Staggs, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. \u201cFeaturing distinctive brands, world-class restaurants and unforgettable entertainment, Disney Springs will be brought to life with the same focus on storytelling and attention to detail that goes into our theme parks, resorts and cruise ships, resulting in a welcoming space that only Disney could create.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>As of right now, there is no real word on what shops and restaurants will be coming in to this thriving district.\u00a0 However, it will be exciting to see what comes to fruition in this area that has been needing work done on it for years.<\/p>\n<p>Construction for the new Disney Springs will begin as soon as next month and will continue until the area is finished in 2016.\u00a0 Keep in mind that Downtown Disney will remain open during the construction, however, just know you may be impacted a tiny bit while work is being done.\u00a0 Personally, I forward to seeing what Disney has to offer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By: Rikki Niblett Have you heard the news?\u00a0 Downtown Disney is going to be seeing some MAJOR changes over the next few years.
